Gradually Slowing Down...

the crazy train that is, not me. I am not slowing down. Too much to do in so little time ;) We had a great weekend. We didn't DO alot, went basically nowhere, but my head is much clearer and I feel we have a plan in place. This is what we accomplished: 1. I made a list of all the things I want/need to get done. 2. I made homemade oreos and gave nearly all to neighbors and Chris' work friends. 3. I created little Halloween treats for Claire and Mya's friends at school. 4. Laundry was washed & dried. 5. I began going through the stacks of papers that have become my recipes, cutting and filing appropriately. 6. I prepared the new meatball recipe that we will eat for dinner tonight. 7. I put together the salad I brought to work for a luncheon today. 8. I made Mya's lunch for today. 9. Chris fixed the hole in the bike tire so Mya can work on riding a bike with two wheels. 10. Chris put up the crib. 11. I updated the software on my computer and Chris attempted...

13 weeks

Well, here we are--13 weeks. It feels great knowing we have made it this far. I am finally feeling like my old self again-a bit less tired, tad less forgetful, nausea has faded tremendously. I got my hair done yesterday, which makes me feel even more like "ME." Our approach to this pregnancy is so much different than the four previous ones. It feels incredibly odd writing four, knowing that we have only 2 children at home, but it is what it is. Anyway, I am much more discrete. I have shared our news with a total of two people outside of our family. I am not sure what is holding me back. I don't think it is worry or anxiety, but perhaps more a calmness and peace, knowing that all is well and the news will come out--in due time. We have yet to share the news with Claire and Mya. I was changing clothes the other night and Mya was talking with me. She looked at my tummy and commented about it jiggling. (That's my girl!). Anyway, I said something to the effect of it jigg...

8 weeks in!

I am thrilled to share that we are officially beyond the 8 week mark. We are still keeping our news under wraps for fear that history will repeat itself. I am tired, bloated and experiencing some food aversions, but I think the nausea is becoming less frequent and less severe. My food tolerances come and go. I started out craving salads, then began to jive with previous pregnancies and crave sugar/candy, and now I am onto soups and sandwiches. I cannot eat chicken, fish or really much meat at all. The thought alone repulses me. I have only gained a pound or two, but my shorts are fitting and feeling much tighter already. I am really trying to keep my weight gain in check this pregnancy, which will mean working out and eating well. I had been working out 5 days per week prior to becoming pregnant, but then we traveled for 2 weeks and the nausea and exhaustion set in. I have run 2 times since. I have to get back on it as I feel so good when I do it. I bought a heart rate monitor even t...

3rd times a charm!

So, we always hear--3rd times a charm. Let's hope this is true in our case because......we recently learned that we are pregnant! We are over the moon, trying to remain calm, keeping our excitement in check, and gripping on to the possibility that things may go wrong. Basically Chris and I are psychological messes as we prepare for the letdown. That is extremely sad. We are thrilled, but don't want to get our hopes up only to experience the heartbreak again. That being said, we are farther along than we've made it in the previous pregnancies, so we remain hopeful. I am feeling extremely tired. Today I dropped Claire off at Bible School, came home, slept for 1.5 hours, made lunch, picked up Claire, fed the girls, then we all napped for another 2 hours. Pathetic, but so lovely to be able to do that. Not great parenting, but what do you do? I have also been experiencing nausea like never before. I am constantly feeling sick--not to the point of throwing up, but basically to ...
