Summertime...

We just wrapped 6 glorious weeks in North Dakota. It was lovely! We had an unusual summer in that we camped out in one location--my Mom and Dad's new house in Bismarck vs. traveling anywhere and everywhere to visit. Chris' family was invited to visit us, but declined. My parents came to Bismarck, stayed awhile, then returned home, repeating a few times over the 6 weeks. It was perfect! Claire played club soccer, practicing 3 days per week and a game or two on the weekends. She loved it, met some nice girls and improved quite a bit. Mya LOVED being surround by her cousins. Luke and Olivia showed her first class treatment, taking her wherever, doing everything to entertain her and lovin on that spunky kid. She had a great summer! Gavin loved the daily treks to the playground, lots of playtime with Jackson, Avery and baby Easton. He thought their playroom had the best toys ever. We spent a lot of time at the playground, swimming, boating at the lake and soaking up as much family...

9 years?!

Dearest Claire. You are my first baby. The one who made me a momma. You are such a special girl. You taught me that my heart could truly love more than I ever thought possible. While it seems like just yesterday we first held you in our arms, it was 9 years ago. How is that even possible?! Nine years has flown by like I never thought it could. On so many levels I wish time would stand still. Each time you sit on my lap I can't help but hold back tears and bittersweet thoughts--will this time be the last time I hold her? Some day you will be too big. You will be too busy. So...I try to savor each moment and continue to pray for just one more time. I suppose that's the challenge every momma faces. I love you so. You make me so very proud in all you do. I feel I fail you all the time, whether I pack you a rotten lunch, forget to remind you to pack your leotard or am unable to attend your class party because of my job. Despite my constant failures, you forgive me and love me alway...

April-June 2016

C perfected a few hairstyles.. C and her BFF Kylee! All ready for the color splash! Ramstein Intermediate School incorporated a color splash into their Field Day activities this year. Unfortunately, C's class had to wear red, so her color didn't show up so well, but it was fun!  Enjoying ice cream from the ice cream truck! Someone found a marker... G and I took Luna on walks. Mya's spring volksmarch. There she is! Mya's field day was sunshine filled! Fun times with  friends. Mya with her teacher, Ana Garcia.  April, May and June flew by! We spent our evenings playing outside with friends, taking Luna on walks and wrapping up end of the year activities. In mid-June, we flew back to ND for the summer.
