26 Weeks

My pregnancy updates are definitely less frequent with this kiddo. Poor thing is already getting the shaft. Things are going well. I am officially 26 weeks with 12.5 more to go. I had the two days on bedrest this week and they have seemed to stop the contractions or at least the frequency and severity. I feel good. In fact with the news that Chris' returning early, I am full of energy and working hard to complete the projects I said I'd do while he was away. For example, yesterday I made 6 cute little monogrammed burp cloths for the babe, painted a few spots on our ceilings that have been bugging me, touched up some spots on our walls and painted the rise on the stairs going up to our bedrooms, which I've been meaning to do for nearly 2 years. Pretty good. I am on vacation this week. Claire is going to go to daycare at least one day so I can finish painting in the basement. I had thoughts of organizing the Claire's bedroom, clearing out some of my clothes from the dresser and moving in some of the baby's. We had initially thought of moving Claire into the other bedroom, but because our length of time in this house/area is up in the air, I don't really want to go there. I think Claire will stay in her room and the new babe will stay in our room for awhile as we did when Claire was little. My weight gain is a bit less this time around, although it happened a bit more rapidly than with Claire. I still have 20 pounds to go to get to my ending weight with Claire. I think I'll be fine since I've only been gaining a pound or so per week--sometimes less. I put in my request for maternity leave this week and began arranging things for my substitute. I will officially be done with school on May 9th. Yahoo! I scheduled the c-section for May 15th, which will give me a week before she arrives to relax and get things together. Although Chris is going to be here, my Mom is also coming. I am very excited to have her here. It will be nice to spend some time together and have the extra set of hands to help. My sister, Jessica is coming with Nate, but after much debate, we decided they should wait until July, so I can be more entertaining. Chris and I finally decided on a name, but I am keeping it under wraps for the most part until she arrives. With Claire we were an open book, telling everyone, everything. I had planned to do things differently this time around, which hasn't exactly worked out given Chris' deployment, so we are going to stick to this little secret. All in all, things are going well. I am simply counting the days until I can see this new little gift. Oooo, speaking of gifts, I ordered shirts this week for my two girls! I am so excited. They will be absolutely adorable in them. The plan is to wear them at the hospital. Cute clothes are definitely a perk about girls.

I'm so happy for you that Chris will be home for the birth of your second beautiful child! What do you mean your time in the area is limited? Are you moving to ME perhaps????

I know. So excited. As for the time, I don't think ME will be our destination, but one will be selected for us next Feb. if not before. The joys of military life and since it seems as though Chris is "staying in," we'll experience this a few more times.

4 months

We are potentially down to our last four months in Korea. I say "potentially" because it rests solely on where we are going. If we are heading back to the States, we will most likely be leaving early June so that we can enjoy a full summer with family and have time to get settled before Claire begins school. We caught wind today of what could be our next assignment. Although it is far from official word, all of a sudden my tummy is filled with butterflies. I had the privilege of teaching a little first grade girl who was one of a set of quadruplets. They (she and her sisters) are the most delightful little girls. They are well behaved and truly beautiful inside and out. Anyway, their family was due to PCS (military move) in December. I teased her that I was going to follow her and live down the road. While they were house hunting, I continually asked if there was a neighboring house for me. She'd laugh and giggle, not really sure if I was serious or not. Her Mom thought

A post

You wanted it, you asked for it, so here it is. A post. Hopefully this post will satisfy all your desires. I am not writing about the apple of my eye, Claire, but of the other apple of my eye--reality tv. I love it! Right now I am getting my fill of Big Brother. I have even lured Chris into my dark place. He mostly watched last season because Dick was such a jerk, but Chris is hooked. He's a dedicated viewer once again this season. Sadly, he was a fan of Matty who was kicked off a few weeks ago. I don't think I have a favorite. I find them all to be so obnoxious, yet I watch. Go figure. I obviously need some more excitement in my life. Girls who wear butt showing shorts, screaming matches, verbal abuse, crazy eyes, back stabbing, boys running around in their colored tighty whiteys (if tighty whiteys are colored, are they still called tighty whiteys?)---all in one episode! It is a gold mine. My second can't miss show is Housewives of Orange County or New York City. I really

Progress

I used to be prompt about scrapbooking in Claire's album. After seeing my sister's pictures piled up three children later, I was determined not to have the same fate. I am sure it is difficult for some of you to believe, but since Claire has been born, my free time has been limited. Really, it has. So, our pictures are finding their way into piles too--5 to be exact. However, I am thrilled to say that I finished (ok, they aren't completely finished, but nearly. I only have journaling to do.) six pages. Yes, that's right, I said SIX!! It was a major accomplishment. Here they are for your viewing pleasure. Only 5 more months left to get through....any volunteers? Jessica???
