moving on

after much deliberation, we've decided to sell our house. chris will be leaving for korea in april and this house is much to much for me to maintain by myself with two little ones in tow. given the current state of the housing market, we were prepared to have it listed for a year or so before an offer came in. we listed it last thursday and much to our shock, received an offer on monday. we countered back a couple of times, but quickly reached an agreement--full price minus a small bit of closing costs. we are thrilled that this weight will be lifted from our shoulders, but the feelings are definitely mixed. i have never worked so hard on something in my life. this house looks completely different than when we purchased it. i am very very proud of our home. it is our first home and the one where we have welcomed both of our children. it is the home where we said good bye to harvest and welcomed sophie. so many firsts have taken place under this roof. it is hard to say good bye. obviously the memories are great and we will take them with us. just as we are sad to leave, we are very excited about what lies around the corner. we've thought long and hard about what the girls and i will do while chris is in korea. we were welcomed with open arms by my parents. they'd love to love on my kiddos each and every day. i know this. however, i think it best that i stay and work in ma one more year, building up my retirement and collecting my salary. the plans are that we will travel to korea in the summer to visit chris and he'll come to the states for 30 days around christmas time. it will all work out and we'll be better and stronger as a result. so, here's to moving on..

I am glad everything went well with the house.
I am glad you are looking forward to moving on.
I hope and pray everything continues to go well for you.
Chris, I wish I could see you before you go away. I know that we are far apart now, but you seem so much futher when you are in another land.

I wish you both the best and will keep you in my prayers. Keep the website going so I can watch the girls grow.

Sweetness Overload

So, we are still roughing it in our amazingly, wonderfully fabulous, new house. That means, air mattresses in our living room. Fun. The girls love it, Chris and I not so much ;) Anyway, the close proximity means Chris and I get to eavesdrop on some very tender moments. They seriously bring tears to my eyes. How did we get so lucky to have them as our children??? Here's one example. Claire--"Mya, can we snuggle?" Mya--"sure." Claire--"don't let go." Mya--"No, I'll just wait until you are sleeping." Claire--"No, you wait until the middle of the night." Mya--"Okay, I'll wait until the middle of the night." Then we hear lips smacking. So cute. I won't share the meltdown that occured moments before this sweetness ;) Life isn't always rosey, now is it? Ha! In other news..we get internet today and our furniture/things tomorrow! That means 1 more night of "roughing it!" Yippee!

A post

You wanted it, you asked for it, so here it is. A post. Hopefully this post will satisfy all your desires. I am not writing about the apple of my eye, Claire, but of the other apple of my eye--reality tv. I love it! Right now I am getting my fill of Big Brother. I have even lured Chris into my dark place. He mostly watched last season because Dick was such a jerk, but Chris is hooked. He's a dedicated viewer once again this season. Sadly, he was a fan of Matty who was kicked off a few weeks ago. I don't think I have a favorite. I find them all to be so obnoxious, yet I watch. Go figure. I obviously need some more excitement in my life. Girls who wear butt showing shorts, screaming matches, verbal abuse, crazy eyes, back stabbing, boys running around in their colored tighty whiteys (if tighty whiteys are colored, are they still called tighty whiteys?)---all in one episode! It is a gold mine. My second can't miss show is Housewives of Orange County or New York City. I really ...

0.0

Yes, indeeedy do. 0.0 is exactly the amount of weight I lost this week. Irritating! Here's the breakdown: number of times I cheated on my diet--ZERO! number of times I worked out--FIVE!! (running, no less). Now that is a mean, mean slap in the face. After I picked myself off the floor and resisted the urge to throw the scale through my window, I've come to realize that it is time to call in the big guns. There will be no messing around. Through a very valuable (HA!--sense the sarcasm) inservice this year, I've learned that I am "Green," meaning logical, research based, problem solver, mathmatical thinker. I am applying the same thought and strategy to my 'get fit' adventure. There will be no relying on the treadmill to tell me how much I've burned. That thing lies, LIES, LIES!! Take for example, the fact that each time I worked out, I burned at least 300 calories--most often 350, my pulse was around 87 (which is pretty much a near death resting ...
