An early Christmas...

Today was a good day. My subtle hints into cyberspace were successful as I received an early Christmas gift. Since my Grandma passed away, we were not expecting to receive her usual, generous monetary gift. However, my Mom and Aunts & Uncles decided to do it one final year from my Grandpa. We were thrilled! Chris and I had planned on putting this money toward our basement repair, but Mr. Budget changed the plans---1/2 to the basement and 1/2 to "something else". That "something else" is the camera I so desired. Yay!! I hated the thought of putting my final Christmas money toward this moneypit of a house, but had sort of come to terms with it in the hopes of a positive outcome when we sell. Now I will have one more thing to tie my Grandma's memory to and what better gift than a camera to capture our family's memories!
The differences between my old and new cameras are amazing. Can you guess which picture was taken with which camera? My old camera is a good camera for everyday shots, but I love the clarity of my new. The flash is immediate and you can take sequences of pictures--3 per second to be exact. It is fun. I have so much to learn, but look forward to testing it out on my little model shown above. Look at those eyelashes! You can even see where she clawed herself by her eye. Amazing! I love my present. It is an incredible gift. Thanks to Grandma & Grandpa and my wonderful husband!

4 months

We are potentially down to our last four months in Korea. I say "potentially" because it rests solely on where we are going. If we are heading back to the States, we will most likely be leaving early June so that we can enjoy a full summer with family and have time to get settled before Claire begins school. We caught wind today of what could be our next assignment. Although it is far from official word, all of a sudden my tummy is filled with butterflies. I had the privilege of teaching a little first grade girl who was one of a set of quadruplets. They (she and her sisters) are the most delightful little girls. They are well behaved and truly beautiful inside and out. Anyway, their family was due to PCS (military move) in December. I teased her that I was going to follow her and live down the road. While they were house hunting, I continually asked if there was a neighboring house for me. She'd laugh and giggle, not really sure if I was serious or not. Her Mom thought

A post

You wanted it, you asked for it, so here it is. A post. Hopefully this post will satisfy all your desires. I am not writing about the apple of my eye, Claire, but of the other apple of my eye--reality tv. I love it! Right now I am getting my fill of Big Brother. I have even lured Chris into my dark place. He mostly watched last season because Dick was such a jerk, but Chris is hooked. He's a dedicated viewer once again this season. Sadly, he was a fan of Matty who was kicked off a few weeks ago. I don't think I have a favorite. I find them all to be so obnoxious, yet I watch. Go figure. I obviously need some more excitement in my life. Girls who wear butt showing shorts, screaming matches, verbal abuse, crazy eyes, back stabbing, boys running around in their colored tighty whiteys (if tighty whiteys are colored, are they still called tighty whiteys?)---all in one episode! It is a gold mine. My second can't miss show is Housewives of Orange County or New York City. I really

Progress

I used to be prompt about scrapbooking in Claire's album. After seeing my sister's pictures piled up three children later, I was determined not to have the same fate. I am sure it is difficult for some of you to believe, but since Claire has been born, my free time has been limited. Really, it has. So, our pictures are finding their way into piles too--5 to be exact. However, I am thrilled to say that I finished (ok, they aren't completely finished, but nearly. I only have journaling to do.) six pages. Yes, that's right, I said SIX!! It was a major accomplishment. Here they are for your viewing pleasure. Only 5 more months left to get through....any volunteers? Jessica???
