A day of all days...

Yesterday was a day from HELL, I tell you. HELL! All started out fine. I did the work thing, went to the lab during my lunch hour to take a PG test to confirm I am not, I repeat, NOT pregnant as necessary for my HSG test later in the day. I returned to work for a few hours, picked up Chris and mosied to Landstuhl for the test.

Total awesomeness! The test was horrible. It hurt almost as bad as the pain of contractions. Fitting, I suppose as that is the objective. Anyway, survived. (I updated the post "ANSWERS" for those of you wanting to know specifics on that end.)

Returned to work, watched Claire run her laps for marathon club-23 to be exact. Wore me out just watching.

Headed off base to pick up Mya at school. On my way, heard a phone ringing. Couldn't find the phone. Finally did. Called the person back. Discovered the caller was the GM dealership who was fixing our car--headlight and checkup. The car needs work, apparently, "extensive work." Of course, the warranties all expired while we were in Korea. Total awesomeness again! The parts will take 2-3 weeks to be shipped here. The car is usable, but will cost us an arm and a leg to fix unless GM will give us a break. The story is yet to unfold.

Finally arrived at school to pick up Mya only to find her in a pull up. Awesomeness for the THIRD time today. She was tickled pink to be in a pull up. I was livid, but partially to blame. She messes around in her backpack constantly. Apparently, she took out her spare undies and pants, so she was wearing extras from the school. Why they went to a pull up vs. undies is not known, but it was quite a struggle getting her out of them. She loves pull ups. Always has. I resorted to throwing all the extras in our house out, as she loved to put them on! What a kid! Anyway, on my way out, I was NOT in a good mood as I was having cramps from the HSG and quite honestly, on the verge of a mental/emotional meltdown when the new assistant director stopped me to ask "did they inform you of what happened." Ummm, no. Anyway, I was rude. I probably should apologize. It was totally me, I know that, but really....what is there to tell?? My kid is in pull ups. I am not a rocket scientist, but I can gather that she must have had an accident??!! The question is WHY? She is nearly 4 years old??!!!  Whatever.

The drama was over, I was crabby. I called my parents. Life is better. Chris shaved the mustache, furlough intents have been issued though I haven't received mine yet, my outlook has improved as I look forward to my time off, and I feel good once again. What a difference a day makes ;)

Yuck! Sounds like a bad day! Is that all the director told you? She had an accident? Hope today is looking brighter!

Love ya, J

Hey, I tried to call you yesterday. I was going to fill you in on the HSG and also need you to send that text to the bank lady again. Apparently, the banks are on backorder until late April. Didn't think you'd care, but she said she deleted the text as she thought it was random??! Duh. I emailed her minutes later telling her, but whatever. Today is much better, thanks.

my workout playlist

I never dreamed I'd be listening/watching this when I worked out, but it is true. Here it is: photo courtesty of Laurieberkner.com I wouldn't have it any other way. My little healthy lifestyle journey is going well. I have exercised 7 days thus far which consists of treadmill activity and an ab workout every other day. I don't pressure myself to run everyday, but I have run 4 of the 7 days. I am quite proud of that. I have never been a runner or enjoyed running, but I have grown to like it. I used to say that I had exercise induced asthma! I think I did, but maybe I outgrew it? ha. Whatever the reason, I am finding it pretty easy to run and maintain a steady pace for no less than 20 minutes each time. Pretty impressive feat for a girl like me. Interestingly, I had planned to take today off, but didn't. I actually had the desire to run. Chris and I are both sticking to the eating plan as well. So far I am down about 4 pounds. Although 4 pounds is plenty, it ...

Pink Family

Chris and I are creatures of habit. We like what we like. When we find something especially wonderful, we tend to go a bit overboard. Case in point--Chinese restaurant in Minot, ND. We frequented it often at least a couple of times per week. This was basically THE place we went out to eat. The host actually started to say things like, "nice to see you AGAIN." We were rather embarrassed and fearful that his line would eventually become, "your usual table?" Thankfully we moved. Since coming to Korea, we've tried every Brazilian Steakhouse (there are 4 or 5), I deemed Ceia my favorite. It has the most delicious white rice with which I put this onion mixture on top and it is oh. so. yummy. We became frequent visitors--typically one night per week. We joked between ourselves that we were going to be greeted as we were dreading in Minot. It never happened, thankfully, but who knows what the staff actually said as they primarily spoke Korean :) Another quirk Chris an...

9 Months

Claire is nine months old. She is such an active kid, always on the go. She no longer lays nicely when we change her diaper. It is quite the challenge. She is getting rather quick at crawling, so we have to move just as quickly to keep her out of where she doesn't belong--the fridge, cupboards, etc. Developmentally, she is right on track or maybe a bit advanced in our biased eyes. She crawls, pulls herself up, is beginning to move from one piece of furniture to another, mostly eats table food, and imitates us (both in the noises we make or actions--knocking on a door). When we hold her hands, she is beginning to take steps without much guidance. On Saturday, she made her first attempt to climb a step. Sadly, it ended with her sliding down. She has three teeth--two on the bottom, one on top with another coming in on top. Ten things we love about her: 1. her smile 2. her curiosity 3. the way she holds our hands or her own hands when she sleeps 4. her easy-goingness 5....
