Life is Good

The second little activity I planned for our day was a festival on Boston Common. Claire LOVES Stevesongs on PBS. He basically just sings and some kids join him to dance along. I discovered that he was performing at this festival (Life is Good) and researched it a bit further. It was a great little find and the best part was that it was FREE. Yes, you heard it...free and on the east coast. Those three words are never synonomis. Mike Lowell (Red Sox) was even there, but we just missed seeing him. We did get a picture of Bert Jacobs who co-founded "Life is Good." Mya chilled in the stroller while Claire had a blast. She got her face painted, got inked, completed an obstacle course, and outsmarted a tossing game (she was supposed to stand and throw the ball into the dish, but she simply walked over to the bowl and tossed the balls in.) The weather was beautiful and the rain held off. On our way out of the park, we stopped at a playground/sprinkler park. Despite our encouragement, Claire had no interest in the sprinklers. Hopefully she'll come around once she discovers what she's missing. It was truly a great day.

it sounds like you guys had a great day! I love reading about your cute family adventures. Now I am really hungry for strawberries and might have to stop at the u-pick place on my way home tomorrow!

4 months

We are potentially down to our last four months in Korea. I say "potentially" because it rests solely on where we are going. If we are heading back to the States, we will most likely be leaving early June so that we can enjoy a full summer with family and have time to get settled before Claire begins school. We caught wind today of what could be our next assignment. Although it is far from official word, all of a sudden my tummy is filled with butterflies. I had the privilege of teaching a little first grade girl who was one of a set of quadruplets. They (she and her sisters) are the most delightful little girls. They are well behaved and truly beautiful inside and out. Anyway, their family was due to PCS (military move) in December. I teased her that I was going to follow her and live down the road. While they were house hunting, I continually asked if there was a neighboring house for me. She'd laugh and giggle, not really sure if I was serious or not. Her Mom thought

A post

You wanted it, you asked for it, so here it is. A post. Hopefully this post will satisfy all your desires. I am not writing about the apple of my eye, Claire, but of the other apple of my eye--reality tv. I love it! Right now I am getting my fill of Big Brother. I have even lured Chris into my dark place. He mostly watched last season because Dick was such a jerk, but Chris is hooked. He's a dedicated viewer once again this season. Sadly, he was a fan of Matty who was kicked off a few weeks ago. I don't think I have a favorite. I find them all to be so obnoxious, yet I watch. Go figure. I obviously need some more excitement in my life. Girls who wear butt showing shorts, screaming matches, verbal abuse, crazy eyes, back stabbing, boys running around in their colored tighty whiteys (if tighty whiteys are colored, are they still called tighty whiteys?)---all in one episode! It is a gold mine. My second can't miss show is Housewives of Orange County or New York City. I really

Progress

I used to be prompt about scrapbooking in Claire's album. After seeing my sister's pictures piled up three children later, I was determined not to have the same fate. I am sure it is difficult for some of you to believe, but since Claire has been born, my free time has been limited. Really, it has. So, our pictures are finding their way into piles too--5 to be exact. However, I am thrilled to say that I finished (ok, they aren't completely finished, but nearly. I only have journaling to do.) six pages. Yes, that's right, I said SIX!! It was a major accomplishment. Here they are for your viewing pleasure. Only 5 more months left to get through....any volunteers? Jessica???
