Check her out!

Our China trip was definitely a turning point on this potty training train. Mya got the knack of what she needed to do and consistency was achieved. My Mom was a great help maintaining the success when we returned to Korea. I am thrilled to so that Mya has moved from pull-ups to thick training undies to DORA!! Yippee! This picture is so fitting for Mya. She is full of life and has a cute, feisty personality. I am so in love with this kid and proud of her!

It's on...

Our house was an interesting one this weekend. Naked booties, urine on the floor and laundry, laundry, laundry. Potty training is in full mode. Turning two years old is a turning point in our house. No more pacis, no more cribs and no more diapers. We had gotten rid of the paci's a month or ago and the crib long before that, but diapers still remain. Mya used the potty occasionally and did quite well this last week. However, the kid is out to prove us wrong. I was bragging to some friends after such a successful week, that I thought she was going to be super easy to train. Let me just say that after 2 whole days of trying--she was successful twice, which explains the urine on the floor, the streaking through the house with nothing on and the threats and bribery that came as a result. Frustration! We will stay on this horse or toilet, but it may not be easy ;)

Already?

It looks as though potty training days are here again. Mya has successfully initiated and completed two attempts to use the toilet. This is an awesome feat for sure, but I am a bit irritated. Selfishly, yes. The issue is this--I have been thinking about when we potty trained Claire. She was fully trained at 24 months, but there were numerous "accidents" to follow and several failed attempts along the way. At 25 months, Mya, Claire and I will be flying across the world. Have you ever flown alone (on an international trip, which means a suuupppeerr long flight) with 1 potty trained child and one that is barely trained? I envision chaos and a whole lot of unnecessary stress ;) Even if Mya becomes "trained" this month, I'll still be contending with accidents, a whole lot of "I think I have to go," but no go as well as Claire. It doesn't sound like much fun to me. I guess I have to let go of my control issues, choose seats close to the toilet and let th...
