The Beginning...

Three weeks post-partum and I am down 30 pounds. Phew. Thankfully those 30 came off quickly and pretty easily. I suppose it helped that my child has been latched on, literally drinking those pounds away, for what seems to be 24/7 for the past 3 weeks! Finally, I can say, breastfeeding has been my friend or at least this factor has been my friend. Well, I have another 15 pregnancy pounds to go in addition to another 40ish that I'd like to lose to get me back down to my weight before children. And so it begins. My weightloss journey. Here are a few things that I am doing… 1. Substituting one meal per day with Shakeology. 2. Cutting out refined sugar, dairy and limiting carbs. 3. Walking 30 minutes per day.  I am not starting training with Robyn, my personal trainer, quite yet. I want to get a better grip on my eating before working out. Finally, when I feel like I've given it my best effort and am satisfied with my results, I am cashing in on my agreement with Chris ...

Bouncing Crazyiness!

I do alot of online shopping. When you live overseas, you have to. The BX is thrilling, yes, but it changes out the merchandise only so often ;) When it comes to clothing, if you shop at the BX (which I do as well), you can be guaranteed that at least 3 other people will be seen in the same item. Take for example this little gray vest that I bought. The other day, 2 other teachers showed up in the same one. Thankfully, I hadn't worn mine that day, but you get the point. Anyway, several places do not ship overseas. That's where my Mom comes in. I typically have the stuff mailed to her house and she graciously mails it to us. Readdressing the boxes, running to the post office and mailing our stuff is a major pain. I know this, but she's been so great about it. Priority mail is the way to go. She generally mails it priority and we recieve it in a week to ten days. However, I ordered a "jumpy jump" as Claire calls it, well before Christmas. Since it was so heavy and s...

Movin' in March....and April?

So, we were four weeks into P90X when our lives were flipped upside down by the house sale and move. It has been a crazy few weeks and although I am not wanting to get back on the wagon, I hear my body screaming at me--telling me to get off my big tooshy. I have my "skinny jeans" hanging on the door (a helpful tip from my pal Ali) and I'm ready to go. Tomorrow will be day 1 of my 53 day plan to eat healthfully and exercise. Yippee!! Jessica and Nate's wedding is just around the corner, so it seemed like a good marking point. I can hold off on eating the bag of mini cadbury eggs sitting in my cupboard until the April 26th at which point I will most likely eat the whole bag (Chris leaves for his year long deployment and I will be off on my 365 day journey of single parenthood with no family supports nearby--thank God for friends and family that will fly here at the ring of a phone!). Anyway, I've spent some time thinking about this tour at Hanscom and things I'd...
