Claire is now 16 weeks old. I don't have any pictures to post since I have made several posts over the course of the last few days. She is doing really well. The past couple of weeks have been filled with milestones, although somewhat strange. Claire babbled for the first time on October 21st. It was a short string of ba-ba-ba, but has not been heard since. Much to her Daddy's delight, Claire rolled over on Sunday, October 28th. We were at Lisa and Phil's watching something on tv while Claire was laying on the floor on her tummy. The next thing we knew, she was lying on her back. Although no one saw this amazing development, we were certain it took place. I did see her roll over a few days later, so this achievement has been confirmed. Claire also giggled for the first time that same Sunday. It didn't quite sound like a giggle, but more of a cough. Maybe she is confused! She was smiling and smiling at me, making cooing sounds when all of a sudden a cough-like sound with voicing came out. I think the voicing pushes it into the giggle category.I suppose it is up for debate. Chris and I were thrilled that we witnessed or at least were present for each of these milestones. It is our fear with both of us working, that we will miss out on these big events in her life. She is such a blessing in our lives and thus far has been the perfect baby. She eats well (5-6 oz. per sitting), sleeps well (still waking once per night), and smiles alot to everyone. The weather has gotten a bit colder now, so we have begun putting her in warm, fuzzy, foot jammies (not pages, Lisa) at night. We are also loving our "bundle me." This acts as a cocoon for her when she is in her carseat, keeping her warm without having to wear a coat. She still enjoys her swing, activity mat and her hands. Claire is chewing on everything. We have introduced her to a teething ring, which she is loving. The big change on the toy front is Claire is engaging with some objects. She grabs the rattle, bringing it to her mouth and shaking it too. It has been fun to watch her grow.
So, we are still roughing it in our amazingly, wonderfully fabulous, new house. That means, air mattresses in our living room. Fun. The girls love it, Chris and I not so much ;) Anyway, the close proximity means Chris and I get to eavesdrop on some very tender moments. They seriously bring tears to my eyes. How did we get so lucky to have them as our children??? Here's one example. Claire--"Mya, can we snuggle?" Mya--"sure." Claire--"don't let go." Mya--"No, I'll just wait until you are sleeping." Claire--"No, you wait until the middle of the night." Mya--"Okay, I'll wait until the middle of the night." Then we hear lips smacking. So cute. I won't share the meltdown that occured moments before this sweetness ;) Life isn't always rosey, now is it? Ha! In other news..we get internet today and our furniture/things tomorrow! That means 1 more night of "roughing it!" Yippee!
