A post

You wanted it, you asked for it, so here it is. A post. Hopefully this post will satisfy all your desires. I am not writing about the apple of my eye, Claire, but of the other apple of my eye--reality tv. I love it! Right now I am getting my fill of Big Brother. I have even lured Chris into my dark place. He mostly watched last season because Dick was such a jerk, but Chris is hooked. He's a dedicated viewer once again this season. Sadly, he was a fan of Matty who was kicked off a few weeks ago. I don't think I have a favorite. I find them all to be so obnoxious, yet I watch. Go figure. I obviously need some more excitement in my life. Girls who wear butt showing shorts, screaming matches, verbal abuse, crazy eyes, back stabbing, boys running around in their colored tighty whiteys (if tighty whiteys are colored, are they still called tighty whiteys?)---all in one episode! It is a gold mine. My second can't miss show is Housewives of Orange County or New York City. I really like Orange County better. The ladies are less shallow, catty and certainly less snotty. However, I watch NYC because it is so far off from what I know as reality that it is rather comical. Who would pay $75 for their 11 year old child and 6 of her friends to get their hair washed, dried and styled (not even well) for a little dance??!! I just can't imagine. What a waste! I think it is funny how they point out the cost of everything as if they're money is all tied to their self-worth. What a joke of an existance! Anyway, those are my two, loser, must-watch reality shows. They are both lame, but guaranteed to make you smile!

I saw for the first time the NYC show and I was just amazed at the calculations occuring and how high school clicky everyone was. My gosh, to think that my Kara watches these women (PS. I might pay $75 for 7 girls to have their hair done if I wanted to pay for all the little girls, I might be more inclined to only pay for my own daughters hair; $75 is a steal for that many kids).

Ok, I have to say that I'm a huge American Idol fan. I know...I know...not very manly. But, it's great fun:) I'm pulling for Brook this year and loved her piano version of the Beetles "Let it Be".

Hey, has Claire said "Dad" again? Ethan is rolling over now but won't be talking for some time I guess.

Ok--it was $75 each. I should have clarified. Yes, a bit ridiculous and very catty.
My choice of tv shows are often not too intellectually stimulating, but I think I watch them for that reason. A nice break after a long day!
Nick, I used to watch American Idol, but Chris is rubbing off on me. He makes fun of it all the time. I do hear the highlights on the radio. Glad to hear you have your own "dark place."
No she hasn't been saying "dad" lately. I think it was a fluke, meaningful yes, a real word, yes, but a fluke. Chris interprets everything she says now as being "dad" or "dadda" or whatever. It is comical. Once they start rolling, changes are constant. Fun times are ahead at your house.

OK, surprise I love reality TV too. I am not able to view any of BRAVO's shows thanks to my stupid cable company..I miss project runway! But I have to say I kind of enjoy the Hills.

Love ya,
Jessica

Oh, I forgot the Hills. I love that show. I can't believe Lauren doesn't show more interest in Brody!

Brody is a JERK..he cheated on her when she was in Paris...Plus the loser doesn't have a job, I don't care how rich he is--get a degree and J-O-B!

My goodness, Jessica

You of all people should be looking beyond certain flaws. Maybe not cheating, but certainly the job thing. Claire is waiting for another cousin and Lisa won't oblige. Looks like it is up to you or Lauren. Hmmm...

Ok so I am looking for unemployed losers now? My wedding will be summer of 2009--we will plan it now and deal with finding the groom later.

PS my savings account made 16 dollars interest now!! Exciting!!
Love ya,Jessica

That savings account is the biggest thrill in your life. Imagine how much interest you'd have earned if you had started it in 2006!! Listen to me or I mean us.

How do you have a savings account that has earned $16 in interest? Please clarify! I do love the hills but I never seem to catch it. I wouldn't want Lauren to date Brody, his 1/2 sister is Kim Kardashain and that crew is nothing but disaster for any self-respecting person. I can't wait for Grey's anatomy to start.....now there's a great show!

Erin,
I agree..Greys Anatomy is wonderful. Kara doesn't appreciate that one..what a loser! I signed up for a saving account with Chris and Kara's advice that's why I keep commenting on it!

2 weeks...

As I write this, my house is being cleaned and not by me. This is my favorite day of the week. There is nothing like going home to a clean house and smelling the bleach to know it is germ free as well. This is my second good day in a row! I took the day off yesterday. Claire didn't have school due to Fasching (German equivalent of Halloween--minus the door to door trick or treating), so I gave Mya the option of hanging out with us as well. She took some convincing, but later said she had a great day. I must admit that I was focused on giving my back a much needed break, so my morning consisted of napping and laying on the couch. Not my best parenting in action, but it did wonders for the rest of the day. We met Chris for lunch, then returned home to enjoy the sunshine before the girls' swimming lessons. It was in the 50's yesterday, absolutely gorgeous! It really is hard to believe that we made it through the entire winter with no snow. I think it snowed possibly 2 days, b

4 months

We are potentially down to our last four months in Korea. I say "potentially" because it rests solely on where we are going. If we are heading back to the States, we will most likely be leaving early June so that we can enjoy a full summer with family and have time to get settled before Claire begins school. We caught wind today of what could be our next assignment. Although it is far from official word, all of a sudden my tummy is filled with butterflies. I had the privilege of teaching a little first grade girl who was one of a set of quadruplets. They (she and her sisters) are the most delightful little girls. They are well behaved and truly beautiful inside and out. Anyway, their family was due to PCS (military move) in December. I teased her that I was going to follow her and live down the road. While they were house hunting, I continually asked if there was a neighboring house for me. She'd laugh and giggle, not really sure if I was serious or not. Her Mom thought
