What's UP?!

This post is a mess of randomness, so consider yourselves warned ;)

Remember when I made that silly promise to myself about one month ago that I would not purchase any clothes or accessories for myself for a period of at least 6 months? Well, I am pleased to say that I have successfully made it through one month! I was going to make it a blanket promise and not shop for my kiddos either, but we are finally attending church again, so proper church attire was needed. I was simply not raised with the mindset that wearing jeans or fleece pants to church was okay. I cannot do it. Anyway, I did purchase a few dresses for them to wear, but got some pretty good deals too ;) Too bad our traveling and babysitting costs have increased this month, so we couldn't see the difference in our bank account. OH well. It's all about principles anyway.

So, for all you crazy-people haters (Lisa and Jessica), I'm on my way! I may be crazy, but I am holding strong. Now if only I could be as determined about my eating clean/gluten free venture. Ugh. That is a worthless cause. Thank goodness I don't have celiac or maybe I should wish I did. The pain that comes after eating the gluten could be enough punishment to keep me on track. Hmmm.

It's true, I am a whacko! ;)

In other news, I am planning out our next adventure and I am super excited to say that my Mom is coming along for the fun! My Dad is going to be farming if all goes well, which is a bummer; however, we so happy my Mom is coming. It is going to be awesome! It looks like we'll be taking a Mediterranean Cruise. Blue domes of Santorini, here we come. I am so, so excited. Greece was one of my top places to visit while here in Europe and Chris has wanted to do a cruise for a few years, so it is the best of both worlds. The cruise will take us to about 5 different ports. I cannot wait!

Claire is having her first playdate at our house on Saturday. Her BFF from school is coming over for some fun. Claire is very excited about it. The poor girl gets the shaft with a mid-summer birthday, which means no party with friends. Instead she goes to everyone else's party and talks about her own like it is going to happen, but never does. Anyway, I am trying to make the playdates extra special for her. We'll decorate some Valentine's Day cookies and eat heart shaped pizza. It should be great. Her friend lives in the neighboring village, which is nice too.

Mya came home super excited yesterday. Why,  you may wonder? Well, she got to wear boy undies! Yep,  you read right. She was sporting Captain America and could not have been more proud. Ugh. She didn't wipe well, then got help, but still wasn't good enough, so there you have it--onto her 3rd pair of undies in one day. Oiy. It took an act of God to peel them off her this morning. She really wanted to keep them on. This girl is a spit fire. Love her to pieces.

Claire - I feel your pain! Mid-Summer July birthdays are the pits! No party at school and no party with friends. Tell your Mom and Dad that you should get to pick a month during the school year to have a party with your friends....call it your happy "un"birthday party!

A post

You wanted it, you asked for it, so here it is. A post. Hopefully this post will satisfy all your desires. I am not writing about the apple of my eye, Claire, but of the other apple of my eye--reality tv. I love it! Right now I am getting my fill of Big Brother. I have even lured Chris into my dark place. He mostly watched last season because Dick was such a jerk, but Chris is hooked. He's a dedicated viewer once again this season. Sadly, he was a fan of Matty who was kicked off a few weeks ago. I don't think I have a favorite. I find them all to be so obnoxious, yet I watch. Go figure. I obviously need some more excitement in my life. Girls who wear butt showing shorts, screaming matches, verbal abuse, crazy eyes, back stabbing, boys running around in their colored tighty whiteys (if tighty whiteys are colored, are they still called tighty whiteys?)---all in one episode! It is a gold mine. My second can't miss show is Housewives of Orange County or New York City. I really

Progress

I used to be prompt about scrapbooking in Claire's album. After seeing my sister's pictures piled up three children later, I was determined not to have the same fate. I am sure it is difficult for some of you to believe, but since Claire has been born, my free time has been limited. Really, it has. So, our pictures are finding their way into piles too--5 to be exact. However, I am thrilled to say that I finished (ok, they aren't completely finished, but nearly. I only have journaling to do.) six pages. Yes, that's right, I said SIX!! It was a major accomplishment. Here they are for your viewing pleasure. Only 5 more months left to get through....any volunteers? Jessica???

Claire, Mya and the NEWS

Chris and I had this elaborate plan on how we were going to share the news with our girls. I ordered adorable shirts, which took forever to get here. They were supposed to ship Oct. 4, but didn't. I am not a patient soul at all. I love to share good news and spread the excitement. We went to a German doctor last week for a gender reveal ultrasound. He was 99% certain of his selection. Claire and I began looking at clothes online. She asked questions about why we were looking at baby clothing, but thankfully, my sister has a little guy and a baby girl who is due in December. They are my perfect excuses for all things baby! Claire asked nothing more and began pointing out things we should buy Jackson or the new baby girl. Our weekends typically involve partaking in a local event or just relaxing, which means a trip to the KMCC Mall. Saturday we went shopping or at least looking. Once again, the girls became excited, choosing items for Jackson or the new baby girl. I decided I cou
