13 weeks

Well, here we are--13 weeks. It feels great knowing we have made it this far. I am finally feeling like my old self again-a bit less tired, tad less forgetful, nausea has faded tremendously. I got my hair done yesterday, which makes me feel even more like "ME."

Our approach to this pregnancy is so much different than the four previous ones. It feels incredibly odd writing four, knowing that we have only 2 children at home, but it is what it is. Anyway, I am much more discrete. I have shared our news with a total of two people outside of our family. I am not sure what is holding me back. I don't think it is worry or anxiety, but perhaps more a calmness and peace, knowing that all is well and the news will come out--in due time. We have yet to share the news with Claire and Mya. I was changing clothes the other night and Mya was talking with me. She looked at my tummy and commented about it jiggling. (That's my girl!). Anyway, I said something to the effect of it jiggles because of when I had babies. She got all excited and said, "YOU HAVE A BABY IN THERE??" I quickly burst her bubble with my clarification that she stretched out my tummy because she was so big when she was a baby. The conversation was adorable. I can't wait until we reveal our surprise to them. They will be thrilled!

I have yet to take a single picture of myself. I am thinking one per trimester will suffice this time around.

I am still wearing my prepregnancy clothing though I have broken out a pair of maternity pants only for my sanity's sake. That elastic band is much more comfortable than my prepregnancy dress pants.

We are debating about the 4D ultrasound or not. I go back and forth with everything. We've never had one, so why do one now. This is our last child, so I have this strange desire for a surprise. Keep in mind, that I am NOT one for surprises, so who knows if this will continue.

My sleep is already interrupted with at least one nightly trip to the bathroom. Sad to see it go so soon.

I am going to get back on the exercising wagon. I was doing great before the nausea set in, but it really knocked me out. I am paying additional care and attention to my weight gain this time around. I have big plans for when this pregnancy is over and I want to start off on the best foot possible. So far I have gained 5 pounds, which is good. I am hoping that since my nausea and food aversions have subsided, that doors will reopen for more healthful eating.

13 weeks have come and gone. Chris and I are so excited for this baby to arrive and complete our family. It truly is our deepest wish and desire come true. We are more excited to share this baby with our girls. This experience is going to be so much different than our first 2. We cannot wait to see how this story unfolds.

A post

You wanted it, you asked for it, so here it is. A post. Hopefully this post will satisfy all your desires. I am not writing about the apple of my eye, Claire, but of the other apple of my eye--reality tv. I love it! Right now I am getting my fill of Big Brother. I have even lured Chris into my dark place. He mostly watched last season because Dick was such a jerk, but Chris is hooked. He's a dedicated viewer once again this season. Sadly, he was a fan of Matty who was kicked off a few weeks ago. I don't think I have a favorite. I find them all to be so obnoxious, yet I watch. Go figure. I obviously need some more excitement in my life. Girls who wear butt showing shorts, screaming matches, verbal abuse, crazy eyes, back stabbing, boys running around in their colored tighty whiteys (if tighty whiteys are colored, are they still called tighty whiteys?)---all in one episode! It is a gold mine. My second can't miss show is Housewives of Orange County or New York City. I really

Progress

I used to be prompt about scrapbooking in Claire's album. After seeing my sister's pictures piled up three children later, I was determined not to have the same fate. I am sure it is difficult for some of you to believe, but since Claire has been born, my free time has been limited. Really, it has. So, our pictures are finding their way into piles too--5 to be exact. However, I am thrilled to say that I finished (ok, they aren't completely finished, but nearly. I only have journaling to do.) six pages. Yes, that's right, I said SIX!! It was a major accomplishment. Here they are for your viewing pleasure. Only 5 more months left to get through....any volunteers? Jessica???

Claire, Mya and the NEWS

Chris and I had this elaborate plan on how we were going to share the news with our girls. I ordered adorable shirts, which took forever to get here. They were supposed to ship Oct. 4, but didn't. I am not a patient soul at all. I love to share good news and spread the excitement. We went to a German doctor last week for a gender reveal ultrasound. He was 99% certain of his selection. Claire and I began looking at clothes online. She asked questions about why we were looking at baby clothing, but thankfully, my sister has a little guy and a baby girl who is due in December. They are my perfect excuses for all things baby! Claire asked nothing more and began pointing out things we should buy Jackson or the new baby girl. Our weekends typically involve partaking in a local event or just relaxing, which means a trip to the KMCC Mall. Saturday we went shopping or at least looking. Once again, the girls became excited, choosing items for Jackson or the new baby girl. I decided I cou
