10 years.

My dearest Claire.
10 years ago we became a sweet little family. I can't believe 10 years have already passed. It seems in the blink of an eye, you will be out the door and on your way to college. Gosh. That thought alone makes me tear up. I love you so much.
You are an amazing girl, sassy, sweet and pretty smart. You just finished the fourth grade and all four quarters were on the A honor roll--actually earning Highest Achievement awards each one. Pretty impressive. You love to read, but were less dedicated to earning points for the Reading Counts process.
Your BFF is Kylee. Thankfully she lives around the corner from us so you can ride bikes, scooters and hang out whenever we are free. She is alot like you as well-smart, sweet, and innocent. I hope that innocence never changes, but I'm not naive. I'll just savor these days to their fullest.
Claire you are stepping up your soccer game. You typically play striker, dominating with your speed and footwork. You began playing "select" in January and also do ODP (Olympic Development Program) trainings. ODP was your first experience sleeping away from us. While we were only a few miles down the road in a hotel, it was still a challenge not being with you. You had a hard time as well, but I think it was a good experience. You loved the camp and were a pro by the second one.
You love to create things, do crafting projects, look on youtube for ideas, sing, jump on the trampoline learning new gymnastics moves, ride bike, and earn money only to spend it right away. You prefer to earn a lot of money very quickly, passing up jobs that only earn $1 or $2. I try to stress that sometimes the little adds up to a lot, but you aren't ready to realize this yet. You look for jobs paying $5 or $10. They are few and far between at our house :)
Claire you have a kind spirit, a stubbornness and a strong ability to manipulate. I hope you use these qualities for good and help others. You can be the sweetest friend to Mya and Gavin, but in the blink of an eye, you'll manipulate them for your benefit only. I hope maturity and time changes this and you realize what gems you have in your siblings. They are amazing people and my biggest desire is for you three to be the best of friends who always make an effort for each other. May you continue to love, need and grow together and never apart. I pray your relationship with them blossoms and you seek their support throughout your lives. I pray your children see their children as siblings and know them well. I pray you understand the importance of family  and love that only family can provide. I pray you continue to grow and learn as much as you are able. I pray you never become complacent. I pray you experience all that the world has to offer, may you not be afraid nor let fear paralyze you. Push through, live your life to the fullest and explore this amazing world. There is so much beauty to be seen. Discover it. Travel. Work hard, but play hard in all you do. I love you, Claire. I know you will continue to make me proud in all you do. I am and will always be your biggest fan. I'm here for you now and always, in good times and in those when you simply need an ear to listen. You are my Clairebear, the first who made me a Momma and the one who showed me how to love beyond what I ever thought possible. I pray one day, many years from now--like 18, you'll experience this kind of love too.
With that, I will close. 10 years. Passes so quickly, yet I can remember your arrival like it was yesterday. I love you sweet girl.
Momma

A post

You wanted it, you asked for it, so here it is. A post. Hopefully this post will satisfy all your desires. I am not writing about the apple of my eye, Claire, but of the other apple of my eye--reality tv. I love it! Right now I am getting my fill of Big Brother. I have even lured Chris into my dark place. He mostly watched last season because Dick was such a jerk, but Chris is hooked. He's a dedicated viewer once again this season. Sadly, he was a fan of Matty who was kicked off a few weeks ago. I don't think I have a favorite. I find them all to be so obnoxious, yet I watch. Go figure. I obviously need some more excitement in my life. Girls who wear butt showing shorts, screaming matches, verbal abuse, crazy eyes, back stabbing, boys running around in their colored tighty whiteys (if tighty whiteys are colored, are they still called tighty whiteys?)---all in one episode! It is a gold mine. My second can't miss show is Housewives of Orange County or New York City. I really

2 weeks...

As I write this, my house is being cleaned and not by me. This is my favorite day of the week. There is nothing like going home to a clean house and smelling the bleach to know it is germ free as well. This is my second good day in a row! I took the day off yesterday. Claire didn't have school due to Fasching (German equivalent of Halloween--minus the door to door trick or treating), so I gave Mya the option of hanging out with us as well. She took some convincing, but later said she had a great day. I must admit that I was focused on giving my back a much needed break, so my morning consisted of napping and laying on the couch. Not my best parenting in action, but it did wonders for the rest of the day. We met Chris for lunch, then returned home to enjoy the sunshine before the girls' swimming lessons. It was in the 50's yesterday, absolutely gorgeous! It really is hard to believe that we made it through the entire winter with no snow. I think it snowed possibly 2 days, b

Claire, Mya and the NEWS

Chris and I had this elaborate plan on how we were going to share the news with our girls. I ordered adorable shirts, which took forever to get here. They were supposed to ship Oct. 4, but didn't. I am not a patient soul at all. I love to share good news and spread the excitement. We went to a German doctor last week for a gender reveal ultrasound. He was 99% certain of his selection. Claire and I began looking at clothes online. She asked questions about why we were looking at baby clothing, but thankfully, my sister has a little guy and a baby girl who is due in December. They are my perfect excuses for all things baby! Claire asked nothing more and began pointing out things we should buy Jackson or the new baby girl. Our weekends typically involve partaking in a local event or just relaxing, which means a trip to the KMCC Mall. Saturday we went shopping or at least looking. Once again, the girls became excited, choosing items for Jackson or the new baby girl. I decided I cou
