After months of saying I would post pictures of the nursery, here it is. It is not finished yet, but you get the general idea. The walls are painted "lilypad," which is a softer, yet limey green. We got quite the deal on the crib. We ended up buying it from a girl in Springfield, MA for $125. She was asking $150, but I talked her down. Pretty good. It is lovely. Exactly what we had in mind. The bedding was purchased from Pottery Barn. Total price-$208.25. Probably a bit much for a baby, but it is rather cute. We bought the sign from the Paper Store in Leominster and the letters from Walmart. They put us through quite the ordeal. Chris and I initially saw them and bought five of the six letters at $1.79 each. They didn't have an "e" in stock, but we assumed they would get one in eventually. No such luck. We returned to Walmart several more times with no success. I called Lisa to check in Bismarck, only consonants left. I looked online--nothing. My Mom checked in Minot and called Williston, who said they were being clearanced. I asked Jessica to check in Billings, but assumed she'd find nothing. Consequently, Chris and I returned all the letters to Walmart and purchased some runners-up at Target. Not our favorites, but would do the trick if necessary. Jessica called saying she found the correct letter, but it turned out to be a misunderstanding. She bought an "i." In the meantime, Chris went to Maine for a bachelor party and decided to check at the Walmart there. Low and behold, the letter was found!! I was shocked and thrilled. I put on the bows and hung them. They are adorable. I have also ordered two flower prints from art.com for $25.00, but they have not arrived. I am most likely going to buy a deep pink rug for the floor and that will be it. The nursery will be complete. It is exactly what I wanted, not babyish, but girly-cute. Hope Claire likes it too.
The Halloween festivities are in full swing here. We attended a "Fall Festival" at my school on Thursday evening and today we enjoyed a "fall festival" at the girls' school. We've managed to keep their costumes a secret until Wednesday when Claire spilled the beans. She was doing so well at keeping the secret, I almost thought she wasn't our child for awhile ;) Claire dressed as "Pinkalicious" and Mya was a cupcake. My Mom and Dad bought Claire the book, "Pinkalicious" for her first birthday. It has been an on-going hit with our girls. They both have the entire book memorized. It is such a cute book where this girl named "Pinkalicious" loves pink. She eats too many pink cupcakes and turns pink, which she is thinks is simply beautiful then red, which is less than favorable. She eats her vegetables to turn alleviate her pain. In the meantime, her little brother is envious and devours the last one, then turns pink too. It is a ...
