Thanksgiving

Growing up, Thanksgiving traditions existed. & were cherished. We used to spend every Thanksgiving with my Grandma and Grandpa, but as we got older, we began to spend the holiday in Bismarck at my sister's house. My entire immediate family was there, everyone chipping in to prepare the meal. I have nothing but fond memories, especially of the Black Friday shopping adventures. Anyway, when moving to Massachusetts, I knew those family times would be something I would miss dearly, but thought we'd be making similar memories with Chris' family. That hasn't been the case for some reason. Last year we made our first turkey dinner and hosted Thanksgiving at our house, inviting his Aunt Barbara and Uncle Tim. It was nice, but not the same. This year, Chris and I embraced a different opportunity. We were invited to share Thanksgiving with our friends, Josh, Erin and Josh's parents & Grandmother. It was wonderful. This was my first Thanksgiving not in the company of family, but yet, it felt so comfortable and familiar. We all visited, relaxed, ate, & laughed. It was like the many Thanksgivings that I had experienced as a child and certainly those that I hope Claire is accustomed to. Erin did a great job cooking the many dishes. I was going to try to steal some of the photos from her blog, but wasn't able to get it done. The pictures looked like those in a cooking magazine. She did very well! Chris and I enjoyed our first Thanksgiving in the company of friends, who everyday, seem to be becoming more like family & Claire enjoyed all the attention she received. We are truly thankful.

Thanksgiving..well I missed out this year too. It was weird not seeing you all, scoping out the deals and crazy people out shopping. I work all so I could see your lovely faces all Christmas long. I love ya ALL and miss ya!!! P.S. You are not going to be a life time resident of Mass--we want you back!!! Love ya,Jessica

Jessica, I have a feeling we are going to engage in a tug o'war over Chris, Kara, and Claire. Josh and I want them here!
