I guess my instincts were correct, we are having a girl. Needless to say, we are both a bit shocked. Everyone kept telling us it was a boy--the Chinese prediction calendar, Chris, my Dad, his parents (on the basis of familial history). Anyway, it is a girl and in true fashion, our child refused to turn over during the ultrasound, so they were unable to examine her heart or her face. As a result, we have to back for another ultrasound in two weeks. I also received some troublesome news that I have placenta previa. Supposedly, this is very common early in pregnancy and often self-corrects. Hopefully, such will be the case with me. Until another ultrasound at 24 weeks to determine progress, I am to do no physical activity. Should be rather easy since I am not a faithful gym goer as it is, however, kind of ironic as a colleague asked today if a group of us wanted to work out together. I agreed with an abounding "yes." I guess someone has other plans for me. Sad. All in all, we have pleased few. Jessica has her baby with "no penis" and Olivia has her first girl cousin. Not bad. Bring on the pink!

I am not writing about the apple of my eye, Claire, but of the other apple of my eye--reality tv. I love it! Right now I am getting my fill of Big Brother. I have even lured Chris into my dark place. He mostly watched last season because Dick was such a jerk, but Chris is hooked. He's a dedicated viewer once again this season. Sadly, he was a fan of Matty who was kicked off a few weeks ago. I don't think I have a favorite. I find them all to be so obnoxious, yet I watch. Go figure. I obviously need some more excitement in my life. Girls who wear butt showing shorts, screaming matches, verbal abuse, crazy eyes, back stabbing, boys running around in their colored tighty whiteys (if tighty whiteys are colored, are they still called tighty whiteys?)---all in one episode! It is a gold mine. My second can't miss show is Housewives of Orange County or New York City. I really
