Bloody Hell

BEFORE:
Fun, playing, active--just like the doctor ordered...

AFTER:
limping, hurt, wandering aimlessly...bloody hell!

My faithful, long-time readers probably remember our go around with our million dollar dog last summer. The poor guy tore his ACL and we shelled out the $1300 to have it repaired. I fear we are faced with the same decision nearly one year later. After our lovely visit to the vet last week who laid on the guilt, saying Harvest was mutilating himself basically out of boredom, we've been walking, playing and trying to give him more attention. This freakin doctor should have taken into account that our dog is nearly 12 years old. The night went something like this, Chris played with Claire while Harvest attempted to join in. Chris told him to get his toy, but he declined. I played with Claire and again, Harvest wanted to play too. I told him to get his toy and he did. I threw it twice and wahla, he squealed and the damage was done! UGH!! Our freakin luck. He is limping and wandering from place to place trying to seek comfort. This situation is all too fresh in our memories. Now we are faced with a dilema--surgery or time to say farewell. I can't believe I am even thinking this way. It makes me sick to think of our house without Harvest, but at the same time, $2600 on surgeries is alot for an old dog. At what point do we say, he is better off? I don't know, but I'd be open to suggestions/thoughts.

I am a little biased as we have our own million dollar dog - though I have my limits as well.

I am so sorry to hear. I know you will make the right decision that will be best for both the family & the dog. He is a good dog and I totally understand your struggle.

A post

You wanted it, you asked for it, so here it is. A post. Hopefully this post will satisfy all your desires. I am not writing about the apple of my eye, Claire, but of the other apple of my eye--reality tv. I love it! Right now I am getting my fill of Big Brother. I have even lured Chris into my dark place. He mostly watched last season because Dick was such a jerk, but Chris is hooked. He's a dedicated viewer once again this season. Sadly, he was a fan of Matty who was kicked off a few weeks ago. I don't think I have a favorite. I find them all to be so obnoxious, yet I watch. Go figure. I obviously need some more excitement in my life. Girls who wear butt showing shorts, screaming matches, verbal abuse, crazy eyes, back stabbing, boys running around in their colored tighty whiteys (if tighty whiteys are colored, are they still called tighty whiteys?)---all in one episode! It is a gold mine. My second can't miss show is Housewives of Orange County or New York City. I really

Progress

I used to be prompt about scrapbooking in Claire's album. After seeing my sister's pictures piled up three children later, I was determined not to have the same fate. I am sure it is difficult for some of you to believe, but since Claire has been born, my free time has been limited. Really, it has. So, our pictures are finding their way into piles too--5 to be exact. However, I am thrilled to say that I finished (ok, they aren't completely finished, but nearly. I only have journaling to do.) six pages. Yes, that's right, I said SIX!! It was a major accomplishment. Here they are for your viewing pleasure. Only 5 more months left to get through....any volunteers? Jessica???

Claire, Mya and the NEWS

Chris and I had this elaborate plan on how we were going to share the news with our girls. I ordered adorable shirts, which took forever to get here. They were supposed to ship Oct. 4, but didn't. I am not a patient soul at all. I love to share good news and spread the excitement. We went to a German doctor last week for a gender reveal ultrasound. He was 99% certain of his selection. Claire and I began looking at clothes online. She asked questions about why we were looking at baby clothing, but thankfully, my sister has a little guy and a baby girl who is due in December. They are my perfect excuses for all things baby! Claire asked nothing more and began pointing out things we should buy Jackson or the new baby girl. Our weekends typically involve partaking in a local event or just relaxing, which means a trip to the KMCC Mall. Saturday we went shopping or at least looking. Once again, the girls became excited, choosing items for Jackson or the new baby girl. I decided I cou
