Opening Day

About a month ago, I had a bizarre, yet lovely dream that I was having a baby that looked like Jacoby Ellsbury. I said it was bizarre, but he is beautiful. Anyway, I shared this with Chris and his comment was something like, "is there something you aren't telling me?" Fast forward a month or so...we were shopping this weekend when Chris found a rack of kids' Red Sox gear. He found a shirt for Claire with Ellsbury's name and number on the back. He bought it with the intention of her wearing it on Opening Day, which was yesterday. However, there was one major glitch in his plan. He didn't share his wish with me--the one who picks out her clothes and dresses our child. Oopsie. Consequently, Claire didn't dawn her Red Sox gear. So sad. Chris thought it was intentional. I like to think it was a subconscious mistake.
The situation came back to bite me as Opening Day was postponed due to rain. Claire wore the shirt and her little pink Red Sox hat this morning. However, I had her saying, "Yankees," which put a damper on her Daddy's joy. Ha. Don't mess with me!
Chris wanted to take a picture to send to her Papa--a die hard Yankee fan, but I couldn't figure the camera out on my phone. Perhaps the baseball Gods were looking down. However, my actual camera worked. Here are the photos. Judging by Claire's face, I am not convinced she is pleased with her attire. Maybe we really do have a Yankee fan!!

Claire you are in fact the cutest little red sox fan ever. Perhaps the crabby face is because mom was making you say "Yankees" which is very much against your NE roots!

I don't blame Claire one bit! That navy blue and red just don't work. Just cause we have one traitor doesn't mean we have to have more, haha. She has impecable taste if I
do say so myself, GO YANKEES!!

How did a family from ND get to be Yankees fans?? Don't you all need to root for a National League Team?

You'd think. My dad is a Yankee fan from when he was a young kid. He became one because of his grandfather. It is in our blood from way, way back.

Happy Halloween!

The Halloween festivities are in full swing here. We attended a "Fall Festival" at my school on Thursday evening and today we enjoyed a "fall festival" at the girls' school. We've managed to keep their costumes a secret until Wednesday when Claire spilled the beans. She was doing so well at keeping the secret, I almost thought she wasn't our child for awhile ;) Claire dressed as "Pinkalicious" and Mya was a cupcake. My Mom and Dad bought Claire the book, "Pinkalicious" for her first birthday. It has been an on-going hit with our girls. They both have the entire book memorized. It is such a cute book where this girl named "Pinkalicious" loves pink. She eats too many pink cupcakes and turns pink, which she is thinks is simply beautiful then red, which is less than favorable. She eats her vegetables to turn alleviate her pain. In the meantime, her little brother is envious and devours the last one, then turns pink too. It is a ...

my workout playlist

I never dreamed I'd be listening/watching this when I worked out, but it is true. Here it is: photo courtesty of Laurieberkner.com I wouldn't have it any other way. My little healthy lifestyle journey is going well. I have exercised 7 days thus far which consists of treadmill activity and an ab workout every other day. I don't pressure myself to run everyday, but I have run 4 of the 7 days. I am quite proud of that. I have never been a runner or enjoyed running, but I have grown to like it. I used to say that I had exercise induced asthma! I think I did, but maybe I outgrew it? ha. Whatever the reason, I am finding it pretty easy to run and maintain a steady pace for no less than 20 minutes each time. Pretty impressive feat for a girl like me. Interestingly, I had planned to take today off, but didn't. I actually had the desire to run. Chris and I are both sticking to the eating plan as well. So far I am down about 4 pounds. Although 4 pounds is plenty, it ...

A post

You wanted it, you asked for it, so here it is. A post. Hopefully this post will satisfy all your desires. I am not writing about the apple of my eye, Claire, but of the other apple of my eye--reality tv. I love it! Right now I am getting my fill of Big Brother. I have even lured Chris into my dark place. He mostly watched last season because Dick was such a jerk, but Chris is hooked. He's a dedicated viewer once again this season. Sadly, he was a fan of Matty who was kicked off a few weeks ago. I don't think I have a favorite. I find them all to be so obnoxious, yet I watch. Go figure. I obviously need some more excitement in my life. Girls who wear butt showing shorts, screaming matches, verbal abuse, crazy eyes, back stabbing, boys running around in their colored tighty whiteys (if tighty whiteys are colored, are they still called tighty whiteys?)---all in one episode! It is a gold mine. My second can't miss show is Housewives of Orange County or New York City. I really ...
