Our sweet little babe is 5 months today. Life with her keeps getting better and better. She is so precious. Mya is captivated by everything around her. She is constantly looking around, grasping for toys, faces, hair and anything else she can get her little hands on. She giggles with a deep little giggle at Claire. The best time is bathtime. Claire will splash around and laugh, which gets Mya giggling. She definitely has a love and admiration for her big sister. I think Mya is cutting her first tooth. She has been drooling constantly for awhile now, but she has begun tugging at her ears periodically and chewing on anything she can fit in her mouth. Her sleep patterns have also taken a turn the last few nights. She is awake every two hours or so, tossing and turning. Sweet little Mya prefers to sleep on her side. I put her on her back, only to find her turned onto her side. This happens in bed as well as when she is playing. I am certain it won't be long until she rolls from back to front. Mya is wearing 6 month clothing, eating 5 ounces per feeding (combination of bottle feeding and nursing, but all momma milk), and prefers to sit in her supersaucer or lay on the floor. She has been swinging outside at daycare and loves her birdseye view of the kids playing. Mya talks and talks mostly vowelizations, but a few consonants thrown in. Mya is loved by all. Claire especially loves Mya. She finds great joy in waking her. We've been working on making the greeting "peaceful," as Claire loves to get up close and say loudly, "wake up mya!" She is getting better, but even though Mya is awoken to such a jolting tone and volume, she immediatley smiles. I think it is because she knows it is Claire. Each month is passing so quickly, but it is so exciting seeing this little delight grow and change. She is such a blessing to our family.
Yes, indeeedy do. 0.0 is exactly the amount of weight I lost this week. Irritating! Here's the breakdown: number of times I cheated on my diet--ZERO! number of times I worked out--FIVE!! (running, no less). Now that is a mean, mean slap in the face. After I picked myself off the floor and resisted the urge to throw the scale through my window, I've come to realize that it is time to call in the big guns. There will be no messing around. Through a very valuable (HA!--sense the sarcasm) inservice this year, I've learned that I am "Green," meaning logical, research based, problem solver, mathmatical thinker. I am applying the same thought and strategy to my 'get fit' adventure. There will be no relying on the treadmill to tell me how much I've burned. That thing lies, LIES, LIES!! Take for example, the fact that each time I worked out, I burned at least 300 calories--most often 350, my pulse was around 87 (which is pretty much a near death resting ...
