Crunch time...

It is 3:00 on a Friday morn.
And here I sit in the rain.
I could be sleeping or blah blah blah....
I was actually just sitting here thinking and suddenly my thoughts were set to one of my favorites--Billy Joel. Funny stuff happens in my mind.
Anyway, I have been up since 1:00. I swear I am 50 years old or older? Isn't 50 about the point where you have sleep issues unrelated to babies and such? Well, I am there. I am in crunch time. My hubby is due to arrive in just over 12 hours, my Momma will be in 24 hours after him, I am wrapping up my first TWO classes to my Autism certification (which have been awesome--if only I knew about online education back in the day---so much easier than onsite learning and much LESS work!), trying to create our Christmas card (which is being reduced to a photo card & possible letter from what I had initially planned), and I need to complete a job application (Yep, we'll see how this goes. I am going to apply to a job in Germany with DODDS but it will be administrative. Not sure I am completely ready, but I think I need to try. Oh and before my sister's freak out--we haven't gotten our orders so we don't know that we are staying overseas. I am sure this is as clear as mud, but it makes sense in our demented minds :) Needless to say, my mind is whirling and I am scrambling to get all this stuff done. Added to the chaos is the fact that we are leaving for China in less than 5 days and my husband hasn't received his clearance to go yet. We're saying a few prayers that this all falls into place. Oiy. Good think I tend to work well under pressure and perform best in stress. Hopefully that continues to be the case. With that, I bid you farewell. I must go write my 1 of 2 papers.

You have be very confused why wyou would apply for a job without Chris' orders. Secondly, why apply for a job in Germany?? Seems very odd to me. Maybe requires further explanation? Does this sound freaked out....hate to disappoint.

Germany???? How are you applying for a job in Germany when you don't even know if you are going there? Its a lot for my little non-military head to absorb!

On the other hand, I hope that everything falls into place for Chris and your trip and GOOD LUCK with your classes/papers!!!!

I warned you that it sounded crazy!
The position is open now, but government jobs involve a long, drawn out hiring process. I was told it may be 4 months down the road until they actually hire, which by that point, we'd have our orders. I would then decline or withdraw my app should that need arise. I just want to apply and see if I'd get the job. Again, it is an administrative job, kind of like a special education director. I am simply trying to push myself up the ladder... whackadoo, I know!

if you go to Germany... I just want you to know that we MUST sit down over coffee/tea and discuss how wonderful it is there :) I just adored it!

0.0

Yes, indeeedy do. 0.0 is exactly the amount of weight I lost this week. Irritating! Here's the breakdown: number of times I cheated on my diet--ZERO! number of times I worked out--FIVE!! (running, no less). Now that is a mean, mean slap in the face. After I picked myself off the floor and resisted the urge to throw the scale through my window, I've come to realize that it is time to call in the big guns. There will be no messing around. Through a very valuable (HA!--sense the sarcasm) inservice this year, I've learned that I am "Green," meaning logical, research based, problem solver, mathmatical thinker. I am applying the same thought and strategy to my 'get fit' adventure. There will be no relying on the treadmill to tell me how much I've burned. That thing lies, LIES, LIES!! Take for example, the fact that each time I worked out, I burned at least 300 calories--most often 350, my pulse was around 87 (which is pretty much a near death resting ...

my workout playlist

I never dreamed I'd be listening/watching this when I worked out, but it is true. Here it is: photo courtesty of Laurieberkner.com I wouldn't have it any other way. My little healthy lifestyle journey is going well. I have exercised 7 days thus far which consists of treadmill activity and an ab workout every other day. I don't pressure myself to run everyday, but I have run 4 of the 7 days. I am quite proud of that. I have never been a runner or enjoyed running, but I have grown to like it. I used to say that I had exercise induced asthma! I think I did, but maybe I outgrew it? ha. Whatever the reason, I am finding it pretty easy to run and maintain a steady pace for no less than 20 minutes each time. Pretty impressive feat for a girl like me. Interestingly, I had planned to take today off, but didn't. I actually had the desire to run. Chris and I are both sticking to the eating plan as well. So far I am down about 4 pounds. Although 4 pounds is plenty, it ...

Let's just title this one: Stupidity

Look beyond my gorgeous thighs and focus your eyes on the gash. I bet your thinking our children were in danger and I had to unleash my ferocious kung fu kick on them, only to be greeted by a knife to my leg. Ahhh, I wish it were like that--well, not exactly like that, but at least the high intensity kung fu stuff. Pretty cool. Nope. Instead, I had the brilliant idea to put paper on Mya's windows (evidently Korean's like sunlight pouring into their bedrooms at sunrise). Up I went, onto her bed, completing the left window, but couldn't quite reach the right side. Yep. I decided that cheapo particle board bookshelf would be enough support for just a quick lean. Not quite. Bang went the top of the bookshelf, down I went, hitting the easel , dresser and wall. Safely on the ground, I did all that I could to not wail with pain or sob. It was nearly 9:00 on Friday night when this all went down and Chris was still at work, so only the girls took in the spectacle. I was nervous th...
