Ma'am, please take your seat.

Perhaps there was some turbulance in the back? Whackadoo!
Gotta love the Asian inspired picture :) Love it now. They've been well trained by the hundreds of Koreans they've posed for pictures with.

There are many times that I think I'd love to be a stay at home momma. I feel like I'd be so much more productive (yes, I know this is probably a figment of my imagination). My to-do list is sooooo long. One big thing that has clouded our list is the car maintenance and yes, my husband is here and no, he is not deployed; however, let me quickly explain that Korea is a remote assignment, which basically means that he works as if he were deployed (long hours each day and sometimes weekends too). Anyway, our rightside headlight is out, there are a couple of recalls that need to be handled, and the car needs detailing BADLY (pop tarts glued to the seat, crumbs everywhere and yes, despite what you would think if you saw it, my car is red). Anyway, this is quite a process since we have an American car in a foreign country. It is a challenge. To make a longer story a bit shorter, we had the initial inspection and diagnostic done. The girls' carseats were removed and have been sitting in our kitchen. Mya loves this new location. She buckles her baby in for the ride and we play airplane. It is quite the production with beverage and meal service too!

Our weekend also involved cleaning, cleaning and organizing. I had an ajuma for a year or so, but fired her a few weeks before Christmas. She did "fine," but "fine" isn't worth the $60 per week we were paying her. We also tackled the dreaded storage room. It feels so good to be rid of the tons of unnecessary things we were toting half way around the world. I am sad to say that we still have a ton, but once we are done having kiddos that will find a new home as well.

What a good weekend! It was so productive. Now I just need another week and perhaps, I'll be caught up. ;)

0.0

Yes, indeeedy do. 0.0 is exactly the amount of weight I lost this week. Irritating! Here's the breakdown: number of times I cheated on my diet--ZERO! number of times I worked out--FIVE!! (running, no less). Now that is a mean, mean slap in the face. After I picked myself off the floor and resisted the urge to throw the scale through my window, I've come to realize that it is time to call in the big guns. There will be no messing around. Through a very valuable (HA!--sense the sarcasm) inservice this year, I've learned that I am "Green," meaning logical, research based, problem solver, mathmatical thinker. I am applying the same thought and strategy to my 'get fit' adventure. There will be no relying on the treadmill to tell me how much I've burned. That thing lies, LIES, LIES!! Take for example, the fact that each time I worked out, I burned at least 300 calories--most often 350, my pulse was around 87 (which is pretty much a near death resting ...

7 weeks

7 weeks has brought a couple of changes for sweet baby Mya. She is eating 5+ ounces of milk/feeding. Mya is much more awake now. She typically sleeps for about 4 hours during the day, otherwise is checking out this big bad world. Mya seems to enjoy our daily walks. She looks around and is a pretty content kiddo. Claire tends to her pacis if the need arises. We've introduced her to the activity mat, which she enjoys if she is left alone; however, given the fact that Claire too is fascinated by the mat and Mya, being left alone is a rare occurence. Mya sits in the swing daily, although she isn't a huge fan at this point. We're hoping to change her ways. She is strong, holding her head for minutes at a time and loves standing on her little feet. Mya has begun smiling. She has done this consistently for the past several days, but it is difficult to capture such an event on film as she stops smiling the moment you break eye-contact. This milestone is such a heart melting one. Th...

Bouncing Crazyiness!

I do alot of online shopping. When you live overseas, you have to. The BX is thrilling, yes, but it changes out the merchandise only so often ;) When it comes to clothing, if you shop at the BX (which I do as well), you can be guaranteed that at least 3 other people will be seen in the same item. Take for example this little gray vest that I bought. The other day, 2 other teachers showed up in the same one. Thankfully, I hadn't worn mine that day, but you get the point. Anyway, several places do not ship overseas. That's where my Mom comes in. I typically have the stuff mailed to her house and she graciously mails it to us. Readdressing the boxes, running to the post office and mailing our stuff is a major pain. I know this, but she's been so great about it. Priority mail is the way to go. She generally mails it priority and we recieve it in a week to ten days. However, I ordered a "jumpy jump" as Claire calls it, well before Christmas. Since it was so heavy and s...
