Big Bootie

Chris and I had been talking about getting bikes for awhile now. Thanks to my parents, Claire upgraded to a bigger bike, which means less pedaling to go farther distances. Mya rides her bike with training wheels like nobody's business, but she certainly can't keep up to an adult. I searched and searched and finally found a great trailer that someone was selling. It saved us about $50 and it was brand new! Two points for me!

We'd been eyeing the adult bikes at the BX for weeks, but never bit the bullet and made the purchase. Remember when you were a kid and could ride and ride and ride for hours? Remember when your little kid bootie fit perfectly on that seat? Remember when riding a bike didn't make your bum hurt like no other? Ummm, yeah. Those days are gone. We bought bikes. I picked out a black with blue one. Cute little seat and a coordinating helment. (Yes I miss the risk taking days of my childhood when helmets were only for "special" people.) Ugh. Anyway, Claire and I went for a ride and my big bootie has hurt ever since.

I've come to the conclusion that cute is not practical. I definitely need to upgrade to the big bootie seat even if it is for Grandmas. Aiy, aiy, aiy. I am getting old. I've been reminded of that so much lately. Craziness!

That being said, my big bootie needs a big seat so it can maybe get smaller. Interesting idea, huH?

Padded shorts? Then I have to worry about my chubby legs hanging out. Such a problem

Happy Halloween!

The Halloween festivities are in full swing here. We attended a "Fall Festival" at my school on Thursday evening and today we enjoyed a "fall festival" at the girls' school. We've managed to keep their costumes a secret until Wednesday when Claire spilled the beans. She was doing so well at keeping the secret, I almost thought she wasn't our child for awhile ;) Claire dressed as "Pinkalicious" and Mya was a cupcake. My Mom and Dad bought Claire the book, "Pinkalicious" for her first birthday. It has been an on-going hit with our girls. They both have the entire book memorized. It is such a cute book where this girl named "Pinkalicious" loves pink. She eats too many pink cupcakes and turns pink, which she is thinks is simply beautiful then red, which is less than favorable. She eats her vegetables to turn alleviate her pain. In the meantime, her little brother is envious and devours the last one, then turns pink too. It is a ...

my workout playlist

I never dreamed I'd be listening/watching this when I worked out, but it is true. Here it is: photo courtesty of Laurieberkner.com I wouldn't have it any other way. My little healthy lifestyle journey is going well. I have exercised 7 days thus far which consists of treadmill activity and an ab workout every other day. I don't pressure myself to run everyday, but I have run 4 of the 7 days. I am quite proud of that. I have never been a runner or enjoyed running, but I have grown to like it. I used to say that I had exercise induced asthma! I think I did, but maybe I outgrew it? ha. Whatever the reason, I am finding it pretty easy to run and maintain a steady pace for no less than 20 minutes each time. Pretty impressive feat for a girl like me. Interestingly, I had planned to take today off, but didn't. I actually had the desire to run. Chris and I are both sticking to the eating plan as well. So far I am down about 4 pounds. Although 4 pounds is plenty, it ...

A post

You wanted it, you asked for it, so here it is. A post. Hopefully this post will satisfy all your desires. I am not writing about the apple of my eye, Claire, but of the other apple of my eye--reality tv. I love it! Right now I am getting my fill of Big Brother. I have even lured Chris into my dark place. He mostly watched last season because Dick was such a jerk, but Chris is hooked. He's a dedicated viewer once again this season. Sadly, he was a fan of Matty who was kicked off a few weeks ago. I don't think I have a favorite. I find them all to be so obnoxious, yet I watch. Go figure. I obviously need some more excitement in my life. Girls who wear butt showing shorts, screaming matches, verbal abuse, crazy eyes, back stabbing, boys running around in their colored tighty whiteys (if tighty whiteys are colored, are they still called tighty whiteys?)---all in one episode! It is a gold mine. My second can't miss show is Housewives of Orange County or New York City. I really ...
