A little cooking and cleaning....

Claire is becoming quite the helper. Today she discovered the vacuum. I would like nothing more than for her to help clean. I can remember our niece, Olivia, keeping herself occupied for long periods of time, cleaning the house with her wipes. It was adorable! Claire may be on that same path. Chris and I vacuumed, Claire joined in. Chris and I did laundry, Claire lended a hand. I was cooking, Claire cooked too. Well....sort of. If you look close enough, you can see what she was cooking. Mmmmhmmmmm. That's what I'm talking about. It has been a long time since I have posted a nasty picture, so I thought it was time. In fact, it has been quite awhile since we've had a diaper or disaster of this magnitude in our house--thankfully. I suppose we were due. So, back to the story. In the middle of my chopping vegetables, I was smelling something rotten. I checked the veges, but all were well. I sniffed again and then looked down. There was Claire, spatula in hand, bending forward with an overflowing heap of stinky, stinky poo seaping out of her diaper. We stripped her down, threw her in the sink and hosed her down, literally. All the while, the only thing on Claire's mind was getting that turkey that we had worked so hard preparing, into the oven. What a girl! She is destined to be the next Martha.

OH, THAT'S NASTY! I didn't see it at first:) It is funny how having a kid has changed my sense of humor...because now it's funny and nasty at the same time.

Well done Claire...I'm sure Chris had fun changing that one!

I wondered what was crawling up Claire's backside! Perhaps she was making space for the Turkey . . . wanna come and cook us dinner?

A post

You wanted it, you asked for it, so here it is. A post. Hopefully this post will satisfy all your desires. I am not writing about the apple of my eye, Claire, but of the other apple of my eye--reality tv. I love it! Right now I am getting my fill of Big Brother. I have even lured Chris into my dark place. He mostly watched last season because Dick was such a jerk, but Chris is hooked. He's a dedicated viewer once again this season. Sadly, he was a fan of Matty who was kicked off a few weeks ago. I don't think I have a favorite. I find them all to be so obnoxious, yet I watch. Go figure. I obviously need some more excitement in my life. Girls who wear butt showing shorts, screaming matches, verbal abuse, crazy eyes, back stabbing, boys running around in their colored tighty whiteys (if tighty whiteys are colored, are they still called tighty whiteys?)---all in one episode! It is a gold mine. My second can't miss show is Housewives of Orange County or New York City. I really

Progress

I used to be prompt about scrapbooking in Claire's album. After seeing my sister's pictures piled up three children later, I was determined not to have the same fate. I am sure it is difficult for some of you to believe, but since Claire has been born, my free time has been limited. Really, it has. So, our pictures are finding their way into piles too--5 to be exact. However, I am thrilled to say that I finished (ok, they aren't completely finished, but nearly. I only have journaling to do.) six pages. Yes, that's right, I said SIX!! It was a major accomplishment. Here they are for your viewing pleasure. Only 5 more months left to get through....any volunteers? Jessica???

Claire, Mya and the NEWS

Chris and I had this elaborate plan on how we were going to share the news with our girls. I ordered adorable shirts, which took forever to get here. They were supposed to ship Oct. 4, but didn't. I am not a patient soul at all. I love to share good news and spread the excitement. We went to a German doctor last week for a gender reveal ultrasound. He was 99% certain of his selection. Claire and I began looking at clothes online. She asked questions about why we were looking at baby clothing, but thankfully, my sister has a little guy and a baby girl who is due in December. They are my perfect excuses for all things baby! Claire asked nothing more and began pointing out things we should buy Jackson or the new baby girl. Our weekends typically involve partaking in a local event or just relaxing, which means a trip to the KMCC Mall. Saturday we went shopping or at least looking. Once again, the girls became excited, choosing items for Jackson or the new baby girl. I decided I cou
