My Grandma's Garden
Phil doing manly stuff.
My Grandma always had beautiful flowers. She worked hard at maintaining weed free gardens. I guess her green thumb was passed down from my Mom to me. I, too, love flowers and strive to keep out the weeds. We spent much time on the farm helping my Grandma and Grandpa. She was so easy going about letting me help. I remember climbing up the ladder on her garage roof secured by my Dad when I was about 10 years old to paint her eaves. It was a bit scary, but my Grandma appreciated the help and loved her hardworking grandkids. My Mom would never let me paint in our house, but my Grandma was open for anything. I loved it. I guess it is fitting that we worked a bit to clear the weeds and rediscover the curb appeal that my Grandma worked so hard to achieve.
