We waited to truly celebrate Claire's 2nd birthday until my family could partake. I am not a believer in friend parties until school age. I think it is relatively tacky. So our plan was small and simple with family. We ordered the cake a week prior, which made for a very long week. Each time we got in the car, she stated something along the lines of "george cake." We had to explain that they were making it and we'd pick it up in a few days. It was a long few days. None-the-less we picked up her cake and enjoyed the party. She wasn't a fan of the singing, but loved blowing out her candles. Claire got some fashion boots and jacket, which make her the most stylish 2 year old I've seen. She wore them around the house with her jammies. She also really enjoyed the little table and chairs from my parents. We've yet to enjoy activities at the table, but she enjoyed conversation with her aunties. Luckily they are small enough to sit on the chairs without breaking them. She also got a computer from Chris' dad. It was a hit. She feels just like Chris and I with our laptops. We've yet to check out her art supplies, but I'm sure she'll love them too. I took video of her opening her gifts. It was perfect for a 2 year old.

Yes, indeeedy do. 0.0 is exactly the amount of weight I lost this week. Irritating! Here's the breakdown: number of times I cheated on my diet--ZERO! number of times I worked out--FIVE!! (running, no less). Now that is a mean, mean slap in the face. After I picked myself off the floor and resisted the urge to throw the scale through my window, I've come to realize that it is time to call in the big guns. There will be no messing around. Through a very valuable (HA!--sense the sarcasm) inservice this year, I've learned that I am "Green," meaning logical, research based, problem solver, mathmatical thinker. I am applying the same thought and strategy to my 'get fit' adventure. There will be no relying on the treadmill to tell me how much I've burned. That thing lies, LIES, LIES!! Take for example, the fact that each time I worked out, I burned at least 300 calories--most often 350, my pulse was around 87 (which is pretty much a near death resting ...
