Chris and I try to savor every awesome moment in life, knowing that things could change in a heartbeat. A major change is right around the corner, courtesy of the Air Force with another in one year. Chris is leaving for Korea in a couple of weeks. He's been downloading our home videos to his computer so he can watch and watch and watch them again. I, on the other hand, have been trying to take pictures of each and every little thing--not so much for him, but for our kiddos. Our time in Massachusetts will be gone in one year and although I am excited about our next assignment, I am going to miss so many things that are truly "New England." One thing is the ice cream. Before living out here the only ice cream I'd known were chain stores or the ice cream available in grocery stores. My eyes were opened. We've frequented several little ice cream places, including the Ben and Jerry's factory in VT. Our new favorite place is Meola's Wayside Ice Cream. It is within walking distance from our new home, which Claire loves and it has awesome ice cream, which I love. We don't give Mya sweets or really junk of any kind, but we let her try some ice cream tonight. She was in heaven.
Chris and I are creatures of habit. We like what we like. When we find something especially wonderful, we tend to go a bit overboard. Case in point--Chinese restaurant in Minot, ND. We frequented it often at least a couple of times per week. This was basically THE place we went out to eat. The host actually started to say things like, "nice to see you AGAIN." We were rather embarrassed and fearful that his line would eventually become, "your usual table?" Thankfully we moved. Since coming to Korea, we've tried every Brazilian Steakhouse (there are 4 or 5), I deemed Ceia my favorite. It has the most delicious white rice with which I put this onion mixture on top and it is oh. so. yummy. We became frequent visitors--typically one night per week. We joked between ourselves that we were going to be greeted as we were dreading in Minot.
