goodness...

All good things must come to an end, so with the end of my single parenting episode, I bring you a few other good things of my week. As always, my number one good things--Claire and Mya. I could eat these two up. They are simply adorable. Claire was wearing my boots around. She says , "Momma, I got your knockin shoes on." We got snow Thursday night to which Claire was convinced that Christmas must be coming. She said it several times that night and Friday morning. I just hope Daddy knows the gifts she'll be expecting to fulfill her Christmas wishes;) Mya loves, loves, loves to sing. Claire does too, but Mya seems so little yet that I eat up every word. Her latest song of choice, Three Little Monkeys, to which she then adds "na, na, na boo boo. you can't catch me." Again, I eat up every word. It is adorable, but I think nearly everything these two do/say is adorable. My little whiz, Claire...I discovered a new game for her. Rush Hour, Jr. I was a bit worried that it would be too difficult being that it is for 6+, but she's sailed right through to the advanced level. She is mastering her way through any challenging traffic situation. She'll be ready for the Korean roads very soon ;) I can't wait to follow her successes through life. She is a little smartie, but I suppose every parent thinks that of their child too ;)
New jammies. Love them and their jammies. After several tries, Mya continued with her cheesy grins, so this is what we got.

Mya hiding under the chair. She loves to hide.

Kumquats. Delicious. I'd never had them before, but they are absolutely delicious! Korea definitely has the best fruit all year round. Don't know how they do what they do, but I love it.

Our kiddos love fruit. Thank goodness because fruit is nearly the only healthy thing these kids will eat. They absolutely detest vegetables. Oiy.

Blackberries. These were also so very delicious and HUGE! We've been going through fruit like it is going  out of style. Yummy.

Mya agrees. Yummy.

Another cheesy grin for your viewing pleasure. This girl has attitude like no other. I can't wait to share it with her aunties.

its wierd that you mention kumquats (sp) because I saw them at OUR grocery store this week and they looks so pretty and yummy but I had no idea what to do with them or what they taste like. So, please - do tell!!!! (Instead I bought boring old Strawberries)

Love love love the pajamas. Way too cute. How funny was claire to add in our conversation yesterday that she had a blackberry too. Nothing like life in the eyes of a child. Love you guys, j

Erin--kumquats. My info was taken from a Korean man who was far from a fluent English speaker, so take it for what it is....he said they are like little oranges. you eat the whole thing--peel and all. (I clarified this point to make sure he was meaning what he was saying ;) they do taste like oranges and have little seeds inside them. Very yummy and less mess. Definitely a must try fruit.

Happy Halloween!

The Halloween festivities are in full swing here. We attended a "Fall Festival" at my school on Thursday evening and today we enjoyed a "fall festival" at the girls' school. We've managed to keep their costumes a secret until Wednesday when Claire spilled the beans. She was doing so well at keeping the secret, I almost thought she wasn't our child for awhile ;) Claire dressed as "Pinkalicious" and Mya was a cupcake. My Mom and Dad bought Claire the book, "Pinkalicious" for her first birthday. It has been an on-going hit with our girls. They both have the entire book memorized. It is such a cute book where this girl named "Pinkalicious" loves pink. She eats too many pink cupcakes and turns pink, which she is thinks is simply beautiful then red, which is less than favorable. She eats her vegetables to turn alleviate her pain. In the meantime, her little brother is envious and devours the last one, then turns pink too. It is a ...

0.0

Yes, indeeedy do. 0.0 is exactly the amount of weight I lost this week. Irritating! Here's the breakdown: number of times I cheated on my diet--ZERO! number of times I worked out--FIVE!! (running, no less). Now that is a mean, mean slap in the face. After I picked myself off the floor and resisted the urge to throw the scale through my window, I've come to realize that it is time to call in the big guns. There will be no messing around. Through a very valuable (HA!--sense the sarcasm) inservice this year, I've learned that I am "Green," meaning logical, research based, problem solver, mathmatical thinker. I am applying the same thought and strategy to my 'get fit' adventure. There will be no relying on the treadmill to tell me how much I've burned. That thing lies, LIES, LIES!! Take for example, the fact that each time I worked out, I burned at least 300 calories--most often 350, my pulse was around 87 (which is pretty much a near death resting ...

A post

You wanted it, you asked for it, so here it is. A post. Hopefully this post will satisfy all your desires. I am not writing about the apple of my eye, Claire, but of the other apple of my eye--reality tv. I love it! Right now I am getting my fill of Big Brother. I have even lured Chris into my dark place. He mostly watched last season because Dick was such a jerk, but Chris is hooked. He's a dedicated viewer once again this season. Sadly, he was a fan of Matty who was kicked off a few weeks ago. I don't think I have a favorite. I find them all to be so obnoxious, yet I watch. Go figure. I obviously need some more excitement in my life. Girls who wear butt showing shorts, screaming matches, verbal abuse, crazy eyes, back stabbing, boys running around in their colored tighty whiteys (if tighty whiteys are colored, are they still called tighty whiteys?)---all in one episode! It is a gold mine. My second can't miss show is Housewives of Orange County or New York City. I really ...
