What happened to my babies???!!!

Mya being a punk. I wanted her to smile, but she had other ideas.
Our beauties. Lately, I've been captivated by  how old they seem to be getting. I can honestly look at them both and no longer see babies of any kind. Mya is definitely a little person. She'll be moving into the two year old room at school and has already tested those waters. I am told she can definitely hold her own with the older crowd, but I guess that is to be expected when she is always with her sister. Claire is pushing her way into competition beyond preschool. Tear. Tear. I know growing up is inevitable, but I'd love it to slow down just a tad. Time is flying even though I am trying desperately to cherish each moment.
Claire completing the entire box of tangrams. I guess I need to find some a bit more challenging.
I downloaded a few educational apps to my Ipod. Claire loves, loves, loves to play them (I am sure Chris is cringing at this idea--he strictly forbids the kids to mess with the Ipod/computers, etc. when he is around. Not me ;) Anyway, it has worked out well. Mya plays the IXL, Claire plays the Ipod and I run. Fun times.
Claire's "CRAZY" hairdo for celebrating Dr. Seuss week at school.
She's so beautiful. Really. Look at those eyes!

These eyes too. Gorgeous! A fantastic sense of humor to boot!

Mya always pats her babies backs and says "shhhhh." It is the sweetest thing ever. I've been meaning to capture the moment, but never have until this morning.

Claire showing off her Popeye's chicken tender. Yummy!

Your girls are both so darling! I wish I had girls of my own to do crazy hair dos and all. And totally know what you mean about your hubs not wanting the girls to touch all things electronics--my husband is the same way, but when he's not around I say go buck wild! ;)

Sweetness Overload

So, we are still roughing it in our amazingly, wonderfully fabulous, new house. That means, air mattresses in our living room. Fun. The girls love it, Chris and I not so much ;) Anyway, the close proximity means Chris and I get to eavesdrop on some very tender moments. They seriously bring tears to my eyes. How did we get so lucky to have them as our children??? Here's one example. Claire--"Mya, can we snuggle?" Mya--"sure." Claire--"don't let go." Mya--"No, I'll just wait until you are sleeping." Claire--"No, you wait until the middle of the night." Mya--"Okay, I'll wait until the middle of the night." Then we hear lips smacking. So cute. I won't share the meltdown that occured moments before this sweetness ;) Life isn't always rosey, now is it? Ha! In other news..we get internet today and our furniture/things tomorrow! That means 1 more night of "roughing it!" Yippee!

0.0

Yes, indeeedy do. 0.0 is exactly the amount of weight I lost this week. Irritating! Here's the breakdown: number of times I cheated on my diet--ZERO! number of times I worked out--FIVE!! (running, no less). Now that is a mean, mean slap in the face. After I picked myself off the floor and resisted the urge to throw the scale through my window, I've come to realize that it is time to call in the big guns. There will be no messing around. Through a very valuable (HA!--sense the sarcasm) inservice this year, I've learned that I am "Green," meaning logical, research based, problem solver, mathmatical thinker. I am applying the same thought and strategy to my 'get fit' adventure. There will be no relying on the treadmill to tell me how much I've burned. That thing lies, LIES, LIES!! Take for example, the fact that each time I worked out, I burned at least 300 calories--most often 350, my pulse was around 87 (which is pretty much a near death resting ...

Claire, Mya and the NEWS

Chris and I had this elaborate plan on how we were going to share the news with our girls. I ordered adorable shirts, which took forever to get here. They were supposed to ship Oct. 4, but didn't. I am not a patient soul at all. I love to share good news and spread the excitement. We went to a German doctor last week for a gender reveal ultrasound. He was 99% certain of his selection. Claire and I began looking at clothes online. She asked questions about why we were looking at baby clothing, but thankfully, my sister has a little guy and a baby girl who is due in December. They are my perfect excuses for all things baby! Claire asked nothing more and began pointing out things we should buy Jackson or the new baby girl. Our weekends typically involve partaking in a local event or just relaxing, which means a trip to the KMCC Mall. Saturday we went shopping or at least looking. Once again, the girls became excited, choosing items for Jackson or the new baby girl. I decided I cou...
