more randomness?

this whole "randomness" thing is somewhat fitting as it fits my current state of mind. i am all over the place. ugh.

1. we attempted to put chris' father's day gift together. didn't go quite as i had planned, but i guess i should be used to that by now. i will make one more attempt and then off it goes...wonderful or not.

2. i am going crazy trying to weed through our 'stuff' for a garage sale next week. we moved in a crazy hurry and as a result, the storage unit is far from organized. i have made a few visits and after standing on top of the file cabinet, crawling on top of a dresser, and over the extra bed, i finally found the thing i was looking for. i am feeling a bit defeated. i asked my friend michelle to come over on friday after work to watch the kiddos for an hour or two while i try to get it together. i guess if worse comes to worse, i'll sell what i get to and the rest will just move with us. it isn't that we have a ton of stuff, but it is scattered throughout. when we packed up our huge house, we started strong, but that quickly ended after 2 rooms or so. oh well.

3. i am looking like an adolescent all over again. the look was not pretty the first time around and it sure isn't now. UGH! this whole exercising thing is reaking havoc on my skin. i am breaking out big time. i have stocked up on clearasil wipes and clinique cream. i may be resorting to proactive shortly. just thought i was over that stage in life.

4. on a positive note...i had a little closet reinforcing session on friday. let me just say...i no longer have a "there's a small chance in hell i will fit into those pants again, so i better keep them" section. i could put them all on..even my smallest size, which was from when we were married, but couldn't button them. progress, progress, progress. i was thrilled. it was just what i needed. then my good efforts were met with one straight day of rain--to which i greeted and went walking/jogging anyway. Yippee!! pretty proud of myself, although i am certain my neighbors thought i was a neglectful mother bringing her children out in the rain (not to worry, they were protected under our huge stroller canopy and a blanket--they weren't touched by a drop and loved every moment of it).

5. my parents are coming in a couple of weeks. i am so excited. i need them. not seeing my family whenever i want has been by far the most difficult thing about moving out here. i miss them alot and can not wait to spend almost an entire month with them!

6. claire is going through a phase right now where she doesn't really want to talk to chris. it is so hard. i don't know what to do. he typically calls around 7:00 our time, which is the only hour that i let her watch tv from the time we get home until bedtime. the time zone issue is really a challenge. she sometimes won't even say hi, or she'll say it quickly and then she's off. chris is taking it well, but i am sure it makes him sad. that being said, claire is normal as can be, otherwise. she talks about him often, we talk about things we will do when he comes home, where he is, why he is there, how much he loves her, what he is doing, she talks about things she will tell him, etc. then the phone rings and she offers..nothing, ziltch, zero. it breaks my heart, whereas she is unphased. i hope this phase passes quickly.

7. i think we must have unknowingly moved to seattle. it freakin rains every single day. yuck. last june it rained all but 9 days the entire month and i think we are pushing for a similar record this june. i hate rain. and humidity for that matter. i am not sure what i expected living on the coast. duh!

A post

You wanted it, you asked for it, so here it is. A post. Hopefully this post will satisfy all your desires. I am not writing about the apple of my eye, Claire, but of the other apple of my eye--reality tv. I love it! Right now I am getting my fill of Big Brother. I have even lured Chris into my dark place. He mostly watched last season because Dick was such a jerk, but Chris is hooked. He's a dedicated viewer once again this season. Sadly, he was a fan of Matty who was kicked off a few weeks ago. I don't think I have a favorite. I find them all to be so obnoxious, yet I watch. Go figure. I obviously need some more excitement in my life. Girls who wear butt showing shorts, screaming matches, verbal abuse, crazy eyes, back stabbing, boys running around in their colored tighty whiteys (if tighty whiteys are colored, are they still called tighty whiteys?)---all in one episode! It is a gold mine. My second can't miss show is Housewives of Orange County or New York City. I really

2 weeks...

As I write this, my house is being cleaned and not by me. This is my favorite day of the week. There is nothing like going home to a clean house and smelling the bleach to know it is germ free as well. This is my second good day in a row! I took the day off yesterday. Claire didn't have school due to Fasching (German equivalent of Halloween--minus the door to door trick or treating), so I gave Mya the option of hanging out with us as well. She took some convincing, but later said she had a great day. I must admit that I was focused on giving my back a much needed break, so my morning consisted of napping and laying on the couch. Not my best parenting in action, but it did wonders for the rest of the day. We met Chris for lunch, then returned home to enjoy the sunshine before the girls' swimming lessons. It was in the 50's yesterday, absolutely gorgeous! It really is hard to believe that we made it through the entire winter with no snow. I think it snowed possibly 2 days, b

Claire, Mya and the NEWS

Chris and I had this elaborate plan on how we were going to share the news with our girls. I ordered adorable shirts, which took forever to get here. They were supposed to ship Oct. 4, but didn't. I am not a patient soul at all. I love to share good news and spread the excitement. We went to a German doctor last week for a gender reveal ultrasound. He was 99% certain of his selection. Claire and I began looking at clothes online. She asked questions about why we were looking at baby clothing, but thankfully, my sister has a little guy and a baby girl who is due in December. They are my perfect excuses for all things baby! Claire asked nothing more and began pointing out things we should buy Jackson or the new baby girl. Our weekends typically involve partaking in a local event or just relaxing, which means a trip to the KMCC Mall. Saturday we went shopping or at least looking. Once again, the girls became excited, choosing items for Jackson or the new baby girl. I decided I cou
