First Days

My dearest girls,
Here I am at nearly 11:00 am and bored out my mind. Actually my mind is reeling. Full of thoughts of what you are doing, wondering if you miss us, if you are having fun, if your friends are loving you like I imagined they would and of course, if you are loving every minute of this big, exciting day! Today is your first day of kindergarten and Mya's first day at preschool. You both were super excited, having anticipated it for weeks. We toured the schools, met teachers, carefully selected new backpacks, lunch boxes and attended to each detail that would guarantee you a great day! Each of you excitedly, joined the children, greeted the teachers and waved good byes to your Daddy and I. The only tear filled eyes were my own as you turned to wave good bye one last time. Your Daddy said he had to fight back the tears as well. My eyes are filled with tears of nervousness, excitement, and bittersweet sadness as I can't quite wrap my head around how we got here. It seems like just months ago, we were working on teaching you how to talk, walk, get dressed by yourselves, and emphasizing being a big girl. Little did I know we would zoom past everything in between and wind up here. I know you will do great. I know you will love school. I know that you will be eager to share all that you have learned. I know you will be nothing but successful in all that you choose. Although I am sad that you are not here, my heart is happy--happy for you now, happy for the years ahead and happiest that I can be your biggest cheerleader and number 1 fan. I love you girls. I can't wait to see you in a few hours and hear all about your most wonderful first day of school.
I love you.

I know. I feel pretty ridiculous driving to "my secret spot" while the kids are in school so I can pawn internet off of someone for free. Soon I will have my own and get back to back--updating?

A post

You wanted it, you asked for it, so here it is. A post. Hopefully this post will satisfy all your desires. I am not writing about the apple of my eye, Claire, but of the other apple of my eye--reality tv. I love it! Right now I am getting my fill of Big Brother. I have even lured Chris into my dark place. He mostly watched last season because Dick was such a jerk, but Chris is hooked. He's a dedicated viewer once again this season. Sadly, he was a fan of Matty who was kicked off a few weeks ago. I don't think I have a favorite. I find them all to be so obnoxious, yet I watch. Go figure. I obviously need some more excitement in my life. Girls who wear butt showing shorts, screaming matches, verbal abuse, crazy eyes, back stabbing, boys running around in their colored tighty whiteys (if tighty whiteys are colored, are they still called tighty whiteys?)---all in one episode! It is a gold mine. My second can't miss show is Housewives of Orange County or New York City. I really

4 months

We are potentially down to our last four months in Korea. I say "potentially" because it rests solely on where we are going. If we are heading back to the States, we will most likely be leaving early June so that we can enjoy a full summer with family and have time to get settled before Claire begins school. We caught wind today of what could be our next assignment. Although it is far from official word, all of a sudden my tummy is filled with butterflies. I had the privilege of teaching a little first grade girl who was one of a set of quadruplets. They (she and her sisters) are the most delightful little girls. They are well behaved and truly beautiful inside and out. Anyway, their family was due to PCS (military move) in December. I teased her that I was going to follow her and live down the road. While they were house hunting, I continually asked if there was a neighboring house for me. She'd laugh and giggle, not really sure if I was serious or not. Her Mom thought

Progress

I used to be prompt about scrapbooking in Claire's album. After seeing my sister's pictures piled up three children later, I was determined not to have the same fate. I am sure it is difficult for some of you to believe, but since Claire has been born, my free time has been limited. Really, it has. So, our pictures are finding their way into piles too--5 to be exact. However, I am thrilled to say that I finished (ok, they aren't completely finished, but nearly. I only have journaling to do.) six pages. Yes, that's right, I said SIX!! It was a major accomplishment. Here they are for your viewing pleasure. Only 5 more months left to get through....any volunteers? Jessica???
