Again one of those things I don't want to forget...
Claire: Momma, I see a volcano!
Me: where?
Claire: Right there.
Me: (I look all around while trying to keep us on the winding road and finally see a funnel shaped mountain in the distance) Oh. Well, how do you know it is a volcano?
Claire: Because, I just know it is. It is.
Me: What are volcanoes?
Claire: Well, they look like that and then they go BOOM and bouncy balls shoot out!
Me: Bouncy Balls? Why do you think they have bouncy balls inside?
Claire: That's what Swiper the Fox says.
This is apparently also a memory that my children love, love, love Dora and perhaps, watch her too much ;)
Here's another goodie:
I was talking to my sister, Jessica, on the phone. We were discussing her new phone and its capabilities. She told me that her husband, Nate also got a new phone. I said something to the effect that I thought he got a new blackberry not too long ago, when Claire excitedly chimes in: "Momma, I got blackberries too!" Yes you do baby. We are lovin your blackberries and that is the only kind of blackberries you'll be having for quite some time! (Although, one of the first things she told Chris when he returned home after his 5 weeks away, was that she's been using my phone. I am thinking if she works him hard enough, she could probably get whatever her little heart desires.)
And another:
She is all about Disney movies. We watched Tangled (well, we've seen it a few times but most recently a week or so ago), anyway, she is very inquisitive, asking all sorts of questions about Rapunzel's hair and her Mother and the prince, etc. Last night she yells from her bed, "Momma, I don't want to have long hair." I say, "oh." (She loves to delay sleeping by talking, so we try to respond as little as possible). Claire then continues, "I just don't want to have hair like Rapunzel." That made Chris and I laugh. She thinks we'll let her hair grow and grow and grow. What a kid! Pretty cute.
She also found a worm in their garden at school yesterday. Guess what is now her "pet"? Yep. Lovely. Sitting on my kitchen counter in a cup. Sadly, the worm is not moving. Claire keeps saying that it is sleeping, but I am afraid it is dead. The worm doesn't even look like a worm, really. Not sure if worms are the same in Korea as in America or if it isn't even a worm at all! So many mysteries here!!
