I Love Guam! Part 3

Mya putting the sunscreen on my face. Lesson learned. I let the girls apply some to my face and then I did it myself. They had a blast. The effects were rather comical. If only my camera would pick it up. I ended up having suntan lines from where sunscreen was applied and where it wasn't. I was dying. Needless to say, I am still in search of the right color of foundation necessary to blend those lines ;)

Mya ready for teh beach with her toys in tow. She loves to carry bags, purses, etc.

Gorgeous flowers. The girls and I loved them and put them in our hair. So lovely.

Our precious Claire looking adorable as ever with those beautiful flowers.

This is the snorkeling pool at the hotel. Our kids weren't able to snorkel in here because they didn't meet the height requirements, but we all snorkeled later in the week.

The resort had a river running through it that you could kayak on. It was pretty incredible. They also provided kayaks and windsurfing equipment on the beach, along with snorkels, shoes, etc.

One of the kids pools featured a "zoo" complete with huge animals. The frog was a favorite for Mya. She is a daredevil and demonstrated no fear sliding down the frog and into the water.

Another pool for kids complete with a splash park/playground. The girls weren't fond of this area because of the huge bucket that randomly threw a tsunami at them.

The Zoo.

The girls and I went for a ride in the sail boat. It was so much fun.

Scuba Steve revisited again. You may have remembered Chris attempting to scuba dive in our backyard pool in MA. He finally got to put his skills to the test in an actual ocean. We went for a dolphin watching ride, but saw no dolphins. Instead, they anchored the boat and let us all snorkel. It was incredible. Even the kids had a blast. They hooked up a plastic boat with a plexiglass viewing window. The kids layed on the boat and peered through the window at the coral reef and fish below. It was truly an amazing experience for us all.

Me snorkeling in the water at the beach. The beach was set on a reef, so the water was shallow for a 100 yards or so. It was great.

This is the city trolley/bus. Pretty cute. For $3, we took a ride around the entire route and got a nice feel for the sights. We later bought a 5 day pass and hopped on and off as we liked.

Chris, Claire and Mya on the trolley.

9 Months

Claire is nine months old. She is such an active kid, always on the go. She no longer lays nicely when we change her diaper. It is quite the challenge. She is getting rather quick at crawling, so we have to move just as quickly to keep her out of where she doesn't belong--the fridge, cupboards, etc. Developmentally, she is right on track or maybe a bit advanced in our biased eyes. She crawls, pulls herself up, is beginning to move from one piece of furniture to another, mostly eats table food, and imitates us (both in the noises we make or actions--knocking on a door). When we hold her hands, she is beginning to take steps without much guidance. On Saturday, she made her first attempt to climb a step. Sadly, it ended with her sliding down. She has three teeth--two on the bottom, one on top with another coming in on top. Ten things we love about her: 1. her smile 2. her curiosity 3. the way she holds our hands or her own hands when she sleeps 4. her easy-goingness 5....

Pink Family

Chris and I are creatures of habit. We like what we like. When we find something especially wonderful, we tend to go a bit overboard. Case in point--Chinese restaurant in Minot, ND. We frequented it often at least a couple of times per week. This was basically THE place we went out to eat. The host actually started to say things like, "nice to see you AGAIN." We were rather embarrassed and fearful that his line would eventually become, "your usual table?" Thankfully we moved. Since coming to Korea, we've tried every Brazilian Steakhouse (there are 4 or 5), I deemed Ceia my favorite. It has the most delicious white rice with which I put this onion mixture on top and it is oh. so. yummy. We became frequent visitors--typically one night per week. We joked between ourselves that we were going to be greeted as we were dreading in Minot. It never happened, thankfully, but who knows what the staff actually said as they primarily spoke Korean :) Another quirk Chris an...

Is this a hint?!!

A few years ago one of Chris' friends was telling us that he got his girlfriend a wiifit for Christmas. I couldn't help but laugh and told him that I'd be so insulted. Supposedly she wanted it, so for her it was the perfect gift. He got her other things as well that were much more meaningful--cooking school and a massage or something. Anyway, fast forward to this Christmas. I had a list of items that I wanted, but ended up buying most of them for myself prior to Christmas. I am definitely not one to wait until Christmas or birthdays to buy things--for me or anyone else. Needless to say, Chris was kind of left hanging. I wanted a $1300 lense for my camera, but as you can imagine, that wasn't an option. Hmmm. This is what I received. Very generous, but do you think my wonderful husband is subtle? Ha. Out of fear of making Chris seem like a total jerk, I should add some necessary details--only because I am nice. I had been talking about losing weight, working ...
