being cooped up over the winter months is definitely one downside to new england life. snow is fun, but not so much for a two year old or 8 month old little kid. last weekend i found a great place online--funworld n.h. we drove up to nashua and had a great day. claire really enjoyed the beautifully painted, huge, 2 story carousel and riding on some of the kiddie rides.they had a huge ball pit complete with multilevel play tunnels. claire wasn't so willing to explore on her own, so with my encouragement, chris took her inside. mya was entertained simply hanging out in her stroller or riding the motorcycle. she has a need for speed--okay, maybe we just posed her on the bike. maybe. god knows i wouldn't let my kid ride a motorcycle let alone without a helmet--EVER!! i hate motorcycles. anyway, funworld was a world of fun and it didn't even cost alot. the highlight to claire's trip was the stamp she received on her hand. we brought her to the playground at the mall this weekend and on the way there, she asked to go to the "big playground" and proceeded to tell me which hand she would have them stamp. she was sadly disappointed when we arrived at the dinky mall playground--at least for a minute. thank goodness she is pretty laid back.
Yes, indeeedy do. 0.0 is exactly the amount of weight I lost this week. Irritating! Here's the breakdown: number of times I cheated on my diet--ZERO! number of times I worked out--FIVE!! (running, no less). Now that is a mean, mean slap in the face. After I picked myself off the floor and resisted the urge to throw the scale through my window, I've come to realize that it is time to call in the big guns. There will be no messing around. Through a very valuable (HA!--sense the sarcasm) inservice this year, I've learned that I am "Green," meaning logical, research based, problem solver, mathmatical thinker. I am applying the same thought and strategy to my 'get fit' adventure. There will be no relying on the treadmill to tell me how much I've burned. That thing lies, LIES, LIES!! Take for example, the fact that each time I worked out, I burned at least 300 calories--most often 350, my pulse was around 87 (which is pretty much a near death resting ...
