So I've been wavering back and forth about how much information I am going to share with ye old blogworld. I've expressed my thoughts and received much encouragement (;) Alison), so I guess it was the push I needed. 2009 was a mixed year. it marked the most wonderful blessing on the birth of our daughter, Mya, but it has been tough. raising a child completely different in personality and demeanor from our first has been a huge challenge. we've finally gotten her figured out, but now we're facing different challenges--sleeping in her own crib. in 2009 we said goodbye to a truly awesome lady--my grandma dorothy. that was tough and even tougher this first christmas without her presence at our table. chris was gone for 4 months in 2009 and traveled frequently more recently. single parenthood is tough. anyway, through all that, i've managed to fall into the never ending hole of self-neglect. therefore, i am making the ever popular new year's resolution to use 2010 to attend to ME. i am going to lose weight--4 months for that goal or i will demote myself to personal attendent (and that's a promise to YOU Jessica!!), join a mommy book club to rediscover my love of reading, healthy eating, exercise, and focus on my friendships. I also want to step up my role as a mommy and wife. i have to sort out the details/steps of those endeavors. So, each week, i will update my progress--giving the nitty gritty details on my healthy eating, books i am loving/hating, and my re-dedication to exercise (i was actually once a pretty athletic person; i am certain that same person is still here somewhere). tomorrow is day 1 on this 365 day challenge to ME.
The Halloween festivities are in full swing here. We attended a "Fall Festival" at my school on Thursday evening and today we enjoyed a "fall festival" at the girls' school. We've managed to keep their costumes a secret until Wednesday when Claire spilled the beans. She was doing so well at keeping the secret, I almost thought she wasn't our child for awhile ;) Claire dressed as "Pinkalicious" and Mya was a cupcake. My Mom and Dad bought Claire the book, "Pinkalicious" for her first birthday. It has been an on-going hit with our girls. They both have the entire book memorized. It is such a cute book where this girl named "Pinkalicious" loves pink. She eats too many pink cupcakes and turns pink, which she is thinks is simply beautiful then red, which is less than favorable. She eats her vegetables to turn alleviate her pain. In the meantime, her little brother is envious and devours the last one, then turns pink too. It is a ...

P.S. Your new fonts look great ;-)
P.S. If you have a Wii Fit - try the Biggest Loser - I got that for Christmas and did that last night. I'm so stiff today I could die. It has a program to help with healthy eating and exercise so it's quite nice.....I need to get rid of all my Christmas goodies. Take care and enjoy your "me" time!!
Hugs, Nicole
That does suck that we couldn't arrange a date. The snow definitely put a damper on our trip. Hope you had a good trip to Bis and DL. I bet Christmas was fun with your little ones. My Mom always says how much she loves Abby :) Thanks for the tip about Biggest Loser. We got Chris a Wii for Xmas and I told him he couldn't take it to Korea :) So nice. We may have to get the Wii Fit next.
You shouldn't be working out anyway...you look great!!!
Love ya,
